Don't leave it too long between piling up and setting alight, I moved a bonfire once and found a football sized huddle of frogs at the bottom. There were at least 100 and probably more! Then there's sloworms, hedgepigs... Ah yes..i normally let it dry then resite day i light...bit of hassle but wildlife needs protecting..never seen any hedgehogs round here but we do have snakes and frogs

WHen I had an allotment , I built a pallet shed... it was very good and strong.... One of the boaters on my mooring just built me this shed, mostly from scrap wood laying around at the farm. I had to pay for roofing felt, a bit of 2x2, Cuprinol, sound deadening, hinges and brackets and a padlock which came to £80 but I think for the money he's done a fantastic job. Don't let nickk see that frame generator , he's of the opinion anybody with one is the devils spawn and should be hung drawn and quartered

Ah, but that's why it has that sound deadening foam in the genny compartment. We just have a couple of jobs tomorrow, one is cutting up some scrap rubber matting to sit the generator on (then we are going to bolt it through the floor) another is to cut a hole in the side wall and run the exhaust pipe out of that and the third is to fit the last of the sound deadening to the door, but even as it is it is already as quiet as a suitcase generator if not quieter.

Ah very cunning, didn't spot the sound deadening stuff. Very clever and considerate of you.

How are you going to cool it? ducted blown air? may find that once the cooling holes are cut it gets loud again!!

Why anyone would want pallets in their home (other than in the fire) is beyond me but apparently its quite popular. This is Sabina's wheelhouse during fitting out ...... the vertical tongue and groove below the windows is made from pallet wood img094 by mudlarker2, on Flickr and as can be seen from this shot it has lasted quite well (about 15 years or so since fitted) SAM_0665 by mudlarker2, on Flickr John, that looks really nice mate!
