I "like" posts either because I agree wholeheartedly, they contain an interesting point or they make my chuckle, or snigger, or occasionally actually really lol. Sometimes I disagree entirely with the content but I still hit the like button if they are amusing or look at the subject from an angle that hadn't occurred to me. So if you do get a like from me, I might still think you're a tosspot and disagree with everything you stand for. What makes you click that button?

Usually cos it made me laugh/smile.
This place is a substitute for computer games for me, so anything I find amusing gets the 'thumbs up'.

The feelings mutual cockwomble! I took the boat to the pub again on Saturday. Or the boat took me I suppose. It's a good trip for me - my guests keep picking up the beer and lunch tab. β΄π

Well yes Iβll have to admit to βlikingβ a post because it makes the imbecilic poster look an imbecile not just to me but to everyone else too! But normally itβs just because the post is funny or hits the nail on the head.

Normally as an alternative to posting 'yes I agree' or 'good post'. (Because it's quicker).

Sometimes I use it sarcastically to let a poster know he's a twat.

How does the poster know he's a t...?....I think we need a t... button cos I just cannot click on a thumbs up for one of 'those' posts... I would like a t... option....it'd save my trying to think of a suitable response to a naff post... However I might get kinda hurt if I collected some..though I guess there would be a few who'd wear a badge of pride for being awarded the 'Order of the T...' I had typed that word in but then saw how many times I'd mentioned it and cleaned up my act.... I feel better now.....

Same reasons as you really, and like MJG sometimes its just to show i agree and dont need to add anything in the comments, just like this post really, the above is totally superfluous and can be ignored coz I clicked the like button and dont need to add anything further, so I wont. oh look, a puppy
