Now at Sutton Wharf. It's not exactly GL Watson's! I wonder if this boat will now die quietly and be cut up. It did need to be removed from Burnham on C and that was executed. Seems interesting. Benefit of the doubt maybe they can make it good and transfer to a shipyard. It would be a Good Thing if that happened but we still think it is scrap. Expensive scrap. am following progress on their FB.. they did say it was gonna be renovated but I guess it'll depend on how much ££££££££ they have..

Sutton Wharf looks interesting.
Seems like the craft will be hidden other than for visitors to the yard. I imagine if they do it properly it will need to be transferred onwards to an actual shipyard with a dock and facilities to reconstruct the hull.
This place does not seem like somewhere that a job like that will happen.
Anyway it's a big project I imagine a few million would be needed. Is it really worth it given the poor condition of the boat and the alterations to it's shape that happened during its life?
Maybe it is.

The jaw on the 360 looks pretty tasty !! Looks like it would make a mess of that boat.

Yes. I think it might have enabled the transition from high speed boat to mackerel tins in a Tesco somewhere. or a wall Mart.

If farcebook is anything to go by there are a lot of armchair boat restorers urging the owner on to turn a large pile of cash (and the will to live) into a small pile of cash.
Still, I thought the american chap rebuilding a plane he got for nothing was destined for failure; but then he did a gofundme thing and raised over $200,000. At this point I thought, 'give it a few weeks and there will be a lot of apologetic words followed by a vanishing act' but stone me if, some months later, it looks like the thing will actually fly again. Eventually.
So maybe he needs to do a youtube channel. Seems to be the modern way.

I've always assumed the boat was scrap. Having done this much work it would be quite difficult to now give up and scrap it though.
You would need a very good reason. It seems possible that a professional opinion condemning the boat might be a good reason.
I think it will be cut up. Too far gone. This has been fairly clear from the start but now that a survey has been done it becomes even more clear.
Hopefully not but it really has the feel of scrap about it.

Its hard to give up on a dream. I did wonder once I saw the survey they put on FB if he'd go down the 'go fund me' route there's years of blood sweat and toil there.

Seems a bad time to try and fund castles in the sky what with Ukraine, Turkey and a pending global recession thingy

I believe in this particular case it would be the money which would be doing the escaping.
The idea of escapism is usually for the human to be the escapee but in this sort of thing it would rather the opposite I feel.
If one has a few million to spare and one wants a boat... surely it isn't rocket science !
There are some seriously nice boats around for £1 million. Seriously nice.
