Apparently a typical GEV requires 2 to 3 times more power to take off from water than it would use during flight. So I suppose if the 30kw is designed to get it out of the water then it'll use maybe 10kw to fly. So a 1.7kwh battery could last ten minutes and as the vehicle is moving at 60mph+ that would be 10 miles travel which is actually quite a long way. And the nano thing takes advantage of modern technology (lightweight BLDC motor and Lipo batteries) and only weighs 70kg so the difference in power consumption could be even bigger. worldview.stratfor.com/article/ground-effect-vehicles-adopting-orphaned-technology

And max 10cm wave height is a bit of a problem for most of the time!

Watch the video again? It's shown flying quite high, it's not just a skimmer.

You're right, and that's why I said in my previous posting that I wasn't sure at all if you didn't need a pilots licence to fly one of these, as it is flying. Maybe in Finland the law is different, but I'm sure that one wouldn't be allowed to just take off with a thing like this in France, and probably not in the UK either, without a valid pilots licence. Well it is lighter than air so maybe you just sit there and try to control the weight...

I think in the video there is another vehicle (autogiro?) Flying above it and when it has the sky in the background it is a reflection. I don't reckon it goes more than a few feet from the surface.
Not sure though.

At about 1.30 on the video, the plane is at a significant height.
50 cu.m. of air weighs about 70kg. assuming the machine has voids 'full of vacuum' then it must be at least 50cu.m. in volume.
I suppose when explaining to an eejit how a plane flies, anything that rises through the air could be described by a slick salesman (liar) as being lighter than air.
What lets the sales pitch down is that intelligent human beings who might be tempted to buy one are also unlikely to be complete eejits (unless their surname begins with T and ends with P), and would therefore be put off by used-car-salesman-hype.
Perhaps Foxy can go and sort out these tossers and find out the truth - like how long this machine will fly, how long it will take to recharge and how the machine is brought back to the charging dock after it has run out of juice and glided to a crash landing miles from base.
