I think there are 2 likely explanations: 1. There is an internal leak back from the pump outlet to the pump inlet 2. The pumpβs pressure switch has drifted out of calibration and the pressure is sufficiently high to open the calorifier PRV.
Since you mention that changing the PRV has improved things, I am inclined to think itβs the latter.

With a new one at least you will have the old one as a get you by spare, if you get problems when out and about. Could some of the 12 voles be thirsty?

Right, an update.... New Jabsco pump has arrived, I have a swing NRV and guess what, it's bloody well fixed itself!!! I'm now certain it was crap in the non return side of the pump head. Anyway, I now have the stuff here ready to go if the problem comes back. It's always good to have a spare pump.ππ
