I usually judge by appearance and my own experiences, and I find my stance has guided me through life generally fairly well. If making a telephone call I'd hope that the person at the other end is 'on my level' with the language and clarity of it, and doesn't judge me on my ethnicity. Apart from ONE person, none of the 'Asians' passing our boat along the Blackburn - Burnley - Nelson stretch said 'Hello' or 'Good Morning' to us, yet almost without exception the 'white British' would give us a cheery greeting. THIS is what I base my 'prejudice' on. My fault (again), I suppose, but I would rather comment in my own unhindered style than constantly try to repress my thoughts in the interest of 'Politically Correctness' - there are those who will just have to look down their nose at me and treat me with suspicion. I am always ready to be corrected, but I am generally happy in the way I see other people and to judge them in my own way by their behaviour.

The point is somebodies's ethnicity or colour has 'bog all' to do with a VAT query, you sometimes appear overly fixated with the issue to the point of obsession as you seem to manage to dag the issue into posts that haven't even referred to it in any way, shape or form.

As I said last night...... Pontificating 'experts' I'd just ring the ta21x office.... That was exactly my advice, my turnover was in excess of 100k and never had any issues with either VAT or Tax As I said in a later post they are more than happy to help as you are collecting for them. Phil
