Thanks to Stabby for starting the thread and thebfg for confirming the value of tinned steam puddings I'm now £33 lighter. Should last a couple of seasons though But aren't they the perfect thing to store on-board incase a pudding takes your fancy. We very rarely have puddings at home so when we are away, they are that simple treat for me the kids Yes, absolutely. Just a shame I have to stockpile them from the net rather than picking up a tin while shopping. No microwave means the modern replacements are a non starter. Besides, the thought of scoffing the contents slathered on tinned custard is almost too much to bear while it bubbles and fizzes away on the hob for an hour

Part of my haul from The British Corner Shop. The Crawford fig rolls are not half as good as Co-Op own brand.

Oddly I just bought a couple of Simpsons tinned syrup sponge puddings for my "at sea" store cupboard ....... from Morrisons in Hull
(they also did sticky toffee and chocolate ones but I prefer the syrup, no spotted dick on the shelves there though)

It shouldn't look or taste like one! It's made from suet - bloody heavens are taking over the world!
