I think the crocs were a pointer towards taste.
I don't like white wine, with bubbles or not (I'll drink it if their's nowt else of course).
The 'cellar' looks great, and I like the catches (but I would have picked brass).
Your guests are going to have a great time, and will no doubt be regular returnees.
By the way, are there any open days at Stanley Ferry workshops coming up that you are aware of?

Ref quaysiders picture That's exactly what mine had but when I put the parquet on it was easier to drill a 10mm hole in one piece and glue a little neodymium magnet in. Carving it out to accommodate the lifting catch seemed a bit complicated. I lift it with another magnet. The lid on mine is smaller (made in two parts) so its easier to lift anyway If you can get the catches fitted nicely recessed it's probably a better option. The ones faffer pictured are quite good as being round you could cut a recess with a flat wood bit. I personally dislike having things like this mounted on top of the floor. Just maybe as a variation for someone next time. One of our kitchen cupboards at home came with a child lock. It's a magnet that you place in a certain place and it unlocks the latch, which is hiding on the inside. If anyone wants a lock on the trap door that would be an ideal candidate.

I knew there was a reason I prefer brass.
Thanks,

Just give them a phone call and ask. I just walked round and asked and they said tomorrow morning might be OK. It was impressive, and shows another side to the canals/waterways world. The pub next door has an enormous car park. "when Foxy was here, he "blagged" a guided tour just by turning up!!!" - as I remember it was Steve who showed us round. I hope I have returned the favour by posting the photos I took (I put the link to the pics up again a couple of days ago, search through my posts and you'll find it).

Red wine in an underfloor cold box?
I'm not a wine expert but I must say I thought red was supposed to be warmer rather then colder.

Looks great. Only problem is, where is the red wine? White wine is shite*. Unless it’s fizzy of course. If you want to attract discerning customers you’ll need some decent red wine! *well piss actually, but let’s not get technical. Only at the cheaper end of the scale. A drinkable red can be had at a price where you can only get rubbish whites. A good white will cost you.

In northern France during summer, our red wines were served chilled by the french bar staff.
I have to say I prefer red 'chambre'.
