Does look a nice unit for a medium sized barge or wide bean .
Cummins 4 pot 3.9L so about 80-90hp?

If it's normally aspirated it's about 100hp, but I think that's a turbo or supercharger on it.

As you say it could be good for a barge or widebeam.

Steel hull with wood/GRP top and a couple of Perkins Smokers in there. Potential for it to be a bit shagged me thinks ? Eta looks a bit like a steel copy of a "Moonraker" GRP motoryacht.

Sorry John I didn't realise you had posted before I posted again. The boat you provide the link to does look cheap for what it is. It does look pretty basic inside though, what do,you think of the engine mentioned in the title of the thread๐?

I too found it of interest and the price is not too strong. Curious though as to why no wheel on the footbridge. Phil

I think there would be a fair amount of work matching a gearbox to it but if it really is low hours it could be worth it. probably suitable for a barge 80 BHP or so is fine for even quite big ones. I have no personal experience with Rustons but they do seem to have a good rep although I have been told that they are quite noisy

I don't think it would be too much trouble to put a prm gearbox on it, just the expense of course.

I almost bought a 46'by13' boat with the six cylinder version of this engine in, total overkill in a boat that size.
