I'm not going to indulge you in this ridiculous "I want the last word" argumentative bullshit. Its just not interesting. You have better things to do.

I'm the kind of saddo that likes to read what others are upto occasionally. I recommend Quaysiders blog about nb Ellis. It's also useful when someone like yourself is travelling in an area we will be heading towards. It gives us a heads up for issues. Plus I'm just nosey Rog Nb Ellis, tales of His and His toilets, Where you can always leave the seat up. Whatever is Patty to do on her visit?

Well, I set off a couple of hours ago and at first everything was fine. Progress was a bit slow and a couple of times I had to reverse and ram my way through the ice but I'm nearly at Sutton Stop and the ice is too thick to break through so I've just come to a halt in the middle of the cut and I'll see if the thaw continues this afternoon. If I can get through later I'll moor somewhere near the Greyhound, otherwise I'll just sit here until tomorrow. Should have waited another day or two I suppose but I was bored.

We're back on board, and all's well. It reached -2 inside the boat whilst we were away (I expected it to have been lower). The marina is still 50% frozen, so we'll have to stay where we are tonight. Did watch a boat struggling to break through a sheet of ice by Fazeley junction. There are long clear stretches, then quite substantial ice patches. Hope it's clear by tomorrow afternoon. Any excuse for a visit to the Greyhound is a good 'un Telemachus looks fine too, and in good order. Spoke to Jackie in the office and she was saying what a really friendly man Nick is. Of course I'm tempted to say she's confusing him with some one else .......... but I won't May see Telemachus and crew on their next trip out depending which way they head. Always good to put a face to a name. Rog

I've finally come to a halt near Tusses Bridge, so a bit far to walk to the Greyhound. The ice is getting on for a couple of inches thick and although I can break my way through it, it's very slow and just a waste of diesel. So I'll stop here and review the situation tomorrow. I'm sure it would be easier were there more moving boats to keep the ice broken up but there's no through traffic at the moment because of the stoppage at Clifton Cruisers.

It really wouldn't have mattered had I sat there all night, the ice was holding me in place and I'd be highly surprised if any other boats attempted to pass. Hoping to get moving soon though, the bog is nearly full so I want to get to TellyMackus's boat tomorrow so I can empty the cassette down his chimney.
