I would not presume to advise you, neighbour I have learned to enjoy your 'Pantomime villain' performances, as I have said before. Rog The thing is, when I am nice, as I was on this thread and the Minworth one, it is only a very short time before one of the hyenas descends on the thread to turn it nasty. So it isn’t really possible for me to exist on this forum without nastiness regardless of what I post - therefore might as well embrace it. Although I do find it sad that so many people have so much hate. The same sort of people who seek to ventilate their hate on anyone of a different race, religion, political persuasion, sexual orientation etc like to find someone whose written tone they dislike as a conduit for their hate. Very sad. Of course there are some nice people on here too, but as always the loud hateful ones tend to dominate. Maybe I should leave. It would make life more peaceful but on the other hand, why should I let them win? I’m not the sort to give in to bullies.

Anyway, point scoring aside and since you are apparently a nice bloke, can I explain that I am what I am. If you find my style not to your taste, why not just ignore me? Why are you trying to change me? Do you really want me to put on an act and pretend to be something I’m not? And really, what right do you have to try to change me? And does it all really matter? So many questions. I have no desire , (not to be mistaken for Mrs tabbys' boat), to change you, or anyone else. I was pointing out that you seem to know your "stuff". It's the way that you deliver it that, IMO lets you down. I'm not after point scoring, just telling it how I see it. Seems we are like peas in a pod. Oh, I am a bloke BTW. Well, truce then? My style on here is what it is. Mostly just a bit of fun, but some people do tend to take it very seriously or at least really enjoy being outraged about it. Please don’t be one of them! If you want to challenge me on something I’ve said then fine, but I do have a weakness and that is that I find it very difficult to respect snipers.

Possibly describing anybody who did not have classical languages on the curriculum at school as a "thicko" in every single post you make doesn't help endear you to other members?

Tell you what, you tell me categorically that you’d like me to change it, and I’ll do so.

But then since you are one of the nasty hate-filled people who sits on the sidelines waiting to snipe, and rarely misses an opportunity to do so, I hardly think your opinion is something I should heed.

I don't have any type of problem with it, although you can't expect me to be able to resist picking you up on your shockingly poor command of the rules of punctuation, since the whole point of going to a grammar school is that you learn, um, grammar.

I am quite happy for you to point out my apostrophe faux pas. It’s a bit like having a secretary to check my work for me. However I strongly resent your implication that I went to a grammar school, because I certainly did not.

Have you ever stopped to think why people are "nasty" to you? Maybe because you have been nasty to them? Or could it be the other way round? Although my point was not about people being nasty to me, more that they were nasty people. Important difference! Actually thinking about your first sentence you may be right. It is perhaps anger that fills your consciousness, rather than hate.

I think you need to take a long cold look in a mirror ...... in an argument your style can be boorish, condescending or frequently extremely rude. But then since you are one of the nasty hate-filled people who sits on the sidelines waiting to snipe, and rarely misses an opportunity to do so, I hardly think your opinion is something I should heed. Hardly hate filled ..... Your posting style often has an unbearable air of superiority. On electrical matters you have a better theoretical understanding (especially on batteries) than myself but I probably have more practical experience in a wide range of electrical/electronic problem solving than you. It is when you pronounce on matters outside your expertise you can be overbearing and frequently condescending. When you are thwarted in your attempts to show you are "right" you can post in a very spiteful style. Sometimes, with someone you object to, you will come out with a nasty post just for the hell of it in a thread that is otherwise rolling along peaceably As regards my sniping ..... I take the piss out of everybody and I believe when it is reciprocated, I take it in good grace. (I will probably get it for being pompous in this post The last time you got a real battering (Incidentally not by me although you were sniping at me with your John"likes" comments) the post you seemed to object to the most was an almost identical copy of a nasty post you had made in what had been, up to that point a good technical thread. When this was pointed out, you just brushed it off with a "well I can't remember every detail" kind of comment (can't be bothered to go and look up the word for word of the comment) That kind of behaviour deserves to be sniped
