Just seen a bloke stuck on a motorway in Scotland and despite a red warning and despite the Police telling people not to travel this guy thought it a good idea to travel with his wife and 7 month old child Not surprisingly he got stuck and then proceeded to blame everybody but himself even branding the Police and Highways Agency staff "pathetic for not rescuing him Phil

I bet being stuck in a car with a 7 month old could be a tad stressful and as we know there are those who will blame everyone else for their own stupidity...cos nuffin ever their fault..

And today's Knob Head is ...... Thomas Hamilton currently stuck on the A303 Ranting over a live stream to Sky News that he had been abandoned by all the useless emergency services. He left London heading for the West Country in his 4x4 into a red warning zone, he past hundreds of stuck lorries and cars and still pressed on till he too became stuck When asked why he chose to ignore the "Don't travel advice he managed to skirt round the question stating he had not seen a gritter or snow plough at all The fact was that the gritters and ploughs were tied up trying to free the road on a hill a bit further on. The hill had been gritted 6 times in the last 24 hours But of course our Thomas was only concerned about himself Perhaps next time he will be a bit more attentive to warnings Phil

And today's Knob Head is ...... Thomas Hamilton currently stuck on the A303 don't hold your breath Phil. You sometimes need to travel because others are depending on you, however if it doesn't work out you can't blame anyone but yourself. In the very bad snow in the Southeast (1987) I was roadying for a function band. I was based in Romford Essex at the time and the Gig was at Runnymeade almost exactly half way round the M25. I drove to the garage in my Renault Trafic to collect the band's van (Mazda E2000) and found that the Mazda just couldn't handle the conditions at all ..... I had dug it out of the garage but once in the snow it was useless. I unloaded the gear into my old Renault, pushed the Mazda back into the garage and set off. (The Renault Trafic was a great van in snow, front wheel drive with the engine sitting directly over the front wheels makes it very sure footed) I went through the back roads to join the motorway and trundled round the M25 to the gig ......... I arrived at the hotel to find that the gig had been cancelled and that they had informed the bandleader the evening before. ........ the sneaky bugger hadn't told me ....... at less than 48 hours notice of cancellation he would still have had to pay me .... He was counting on me not being able to get there, in which case he wouldn't have had to pay !!! By me turning up, he had to pay not just my wages but all the expenses as well After a cup of coffee I set off back and trundled along the M25 again retracing my route ..... I hadn't seen another vehicle moving the whole journey there and back. As I was going round Gallows Corner roundabout (A12 ) I was stopped by a policeman. He asked where I had come from and I told him "well just down there a mile but via the opposite side of the M25" He looked at me blankly for a moment and then said "But the M25 is blocked and closed to traffic" I just said "Well nobody told me and there were no signs" He asked me if I had any problems and when I said no it had been a good run, he just grinned and waved me on

I have a feeling that most of the cars that got stuck on the 303 were not in the red warning area. Doesn't stop some off them from being knobheads though.

I get very annoyed when people blame the authorities for their own stupidity, negligence, and carelessness.
If you choose to risk driving in adverse conditions, you have to accept the consequences.
This is like Gazza the other day, blaming the authorities because poor drivers (one drunk) had an accident killing people.
We are responsible for our own actions.

This was going around on Facebook over last week. The advice is to check your policy but it is highly unlikely to say such a specific thing. They might get you on a clause about 'taking reasonable care' but it is unlikely to be so specific.

He left London heading for the West Country in his 4x4 into a red warning zone, Phil Why is it always some jumped up bellend in a 4 X 4? They all seem to think they have the capability to drive to Paris-Dakar standards when the most intense off-roading the majority of them have driven is going over the speed bumps on Tesco car parks! One Discovery driving clown in my local boozer constantly bismirches my car due to its inability to be able to cope with harsh UK winter weather?? Yeh right, Suppose I should drive round in a rattly, unreliable POS discovery like him for an odd occasion I may get stuck (never happened yetin the 5 years I've owned it!🙄🙄)
