I certainly don't feel like I've been too harsh with Nick, but I'm interested in what other people think. I think he's perfectly capable of regularly making himself look and sound like a complete pillock without any assistance from you or anyone else. He inhabits a strange world which is all his own, and seems to have a particularly virulent 'Jekyll and Hyde' streak, alternating as he does between the authoritative and erudite, and the unreasoned and infantile.

Of course blocking somebody doesn’t work when they’ve started a poll thread! Anyway to answer the question it is up to kris alone to decide if he has been too harsh or not. One is responsible for one’s own behaviour. And for my part, it matters not what other people think on the subject, what matters is simply that, whilst everybody and their posts have good and bad points, kris’ constant sniping at me, never engaging in reasonable conversation, being permanently angry etc, means that for me, his bad points on here outweigh his good points by a large margin and thus I choose no longer to engage with him. Well unless he gives an indication he might change (or that pigs might fly). I don’t expect anyone else to block him or give him a hard time on my behalf (fat chance anyway!). I don’t even hate him, I’m sure he probably does have some redeeming features hidden away somewhere. But as I said, for me his interactions with me bring no interest or pleasure, only monotonous grief and negativity and so I choose to no longer interact with him. Seems quite a simple concept to me!

I am the twin of Phylis, separated at birth. Apparently. You on the other hand are just a grumpy demented old git. You have provided me with some useful info on the Trent in the past, for which I thank you, but unfortunately you are incapable of tolerating anyone’s views except your own. I know I am arrogant (I can’t help being so clever) but you are far more arrogant than I am, and that takes some doing!

Despite his bluster and outbreaks of tourettes he is a central character on here, and we'd all miss him I'm sure. Every beanstalk needs it's giant (or Mother Goose its Widdow Twanky). Rog Thank you for the kind words - I think! Don’t worry this is not about me leaving the forum. Much as this place irritates the hell out of me sometimes, I am unfortunately addicted! Although I suppose I could join the TA (Thunderboaters Anonymous, not Territorial Army silly. Mind you, all those sexually frustrated soldier boys...). It is simply that I’m fed up with kris ruining every thread I participate in, and the best way to deal with that is to simply ignore him. And the best way to do that is not to read him.

Yep just as I expected really Nick is acting like a petulant little child with his fingers stuck in his ears.

When I was a young man I had to visit Vic Waddington several times, in his inner sanctum at the Swinton boat yard.
He terrified me, for no obvious reason. He was always polite, but very quick witted, and abrupt.
His office was a thing of wonder that I would love to have a rummage around now.
I always think of Tony Dunkley in a similar way.
What he's forgotten about boating is more than I'm ever going to know.
I would love to see a 'potted history' of his boating experience.
It seems a shame that you put yourself at polar opposite to so many, but it's your choice.

I feel there are a few people here who need to learn to play nicely. If you are going to “dish it out” however, then expect to get it back in spades. There are people on here who can argue with their own reflection. This is not an attractive attribute.

I would usually say my shoulders are broad enough, however
if I was a sportsman, there is no way I could fit that on the back of my shirt.

ETA Some one else has now voted the first option, so I'm not alone in my derangement.
I wasn't actually being sycophantic, I was in my clumsy way trying to point out that everyone here has an interesting story, but you'll probably not notice if you're just looking for people to argue against.

Another poll I'm not gonna vote in..... Tolerance is what is needed between certain posters..its ok disagreeing if u genuinely have a different perspective but sniping just for the sake of it is soooooo House of Commons behaviour....
