What I find funny about the current thread in the CWDF "Suggestions" forum is the recurring theme- "It's better since Daniel got rid of the troublemakers, except all of a sudden CWDF is sterile/ boring/ not worth visiting nowadays".
You can just tell by the visitor numbers to this site that hundreds of them- probably the massive majority of active CWDF members- visit this site each and every day, and follow every thread we post. If they didn't like what we were posting on CWDF and feel that such things as abusive language has no place on an internet forum for narrowboaters, then why do they keep coming back? Why can't the cunts just fuck off?

I think most of us who have been members on there for a while know all about the site owners history of posting style and conflicts he has previously got himself into, it's been referred to on more than one occasion. It makes his current sanctimonious tone he applies to his PM's you get when he 'bollocks' you by PM wonderfully ironic. (It would be a bit like me and a few others buying the forum and then trying to expect everybody to be nice and wholesome to each other even when somebody is being an out and out tosser - it doesn't work like that). That was very subtle. I do prefer blunt myself though, he's a prick. Sadly, it's starting to look that way...

I suspect he is trying to position himself as a potential moderator......

I suspect he is trying to position himself as a potential moderator...... If he succeeds in that, it would become a very strange place to visit

yes, you're right, being a fuckwit isn't illegal. just as well eh? As I didn't see the post, I can't comment specifically on it. However, I would have to say that, like many others here I suspect, I would consider Paul to be one of the more erudite and intelligent members of this forum, whereas I consider you to be one of the least intelligent. well, if you mean he inhabits the same xenophobic and racist morass you do then I am not surprised you hold that opinion. The level of analysis you are both capable of would be rejected in a school essay but hey, the internet gives a voice to those of your ilk. A good thing? or does it lead to the less mentally stable committing crimes such as we saw a few days ago?

Breakfast at the market cafe beside the main road in Sowerby Bridge, in the sun. Just like in Paris. Ooh la la! Mrs Mac's off to Paris tomorrow with the two sons to celebrate her 70th birthday. Shall I tell her that it's just like Sowerby Bridge? (I'm staying at home to look after the dogs, which is why I can't see you up Wainhope Tower.)

My position is that the US and UK should take in any and all Syrian and Iraqi refugees that ask us to. We are responsible for ISIS. We broke their country, they are our responsibility. That's about 180 degrees off from what Iconoclast believes. The thing is, unlike you, he and I can disagree respectfully.

That's about 180 degrees off from what Iconoclast believes. The thing is, unlike you, he and I can disagree respectfully. Actually, my primary position on the refugee situation in Calais is that the truck drivers who are simply going about an ordinary line of work should be protected from the extraordinary violence directed towards them by migrants on a near daily basis. I agree that the situation is largely of our making, but "our" in this context refers to our politicians rather than our truck drivers. I will however readily admit that I think there are far better solutions to the situation than providing the refuge they seek in a country where we cannot even adequately house the population already here. However, as you point out, unlike Emma we can debate issues such as this in a civil and adult manner, despite our differences of opinion.
