One could (perhaps) forgive them for wanting a "new look" if the choice was any good but if you look at the earlier logos then it is probably the least apt and less likely to be recognised as having something to do with waterways !!! 4641504_49c1b243 by mudlarker2, on Flickr logoCRTcomparedBW1 by mudlarker2, on Flickr even the old BWB one was better than this latest one !!! edit to add ..... if there was a competition for the best out of past and present, I would vote for the British Waterways bridge, I think it encapsulates the canals charms impeccably

I think so too. Swans are nasty, aggressive and vicious - representing the 'enforcement team' ?

Not so sure about that, John, . . although I agree that the size and proportions of the weeds in comparison with the bridge is pretty well spot-on !

Here you go, they have finally realised their true nature, the Darkness is closing in. Its awful and hurts my eyes I suppose there was a meeting and someone said what about a wheel? It's perhaps trying to indicate a one-wheel "cart" like wheelbarrow. Or imprinting the validity of using wheeled vehicles on towpaths. I'm sure there is a plan to make towpaths into 2WV transport routes as a priority. I agree with john that the BW was best by far. Why did the bullrush? because he saw the cowslip.

Personally I think the new logo is rather bland and none descript. The last logo is better than the new one, it seems to be a case of change for changes sake, it shows the reality of carts managements priorities.

Those lines can give epileptics fits. Where is Health & Safety when you need it?

I'm still hoping it's a spoof, and waiting for the May 'launch'.

So how much is the Middlewich breach repair going to cost? A lot more than it should do.

Is it an optical illusion like this ? If you stare at the dot in the centre and move your head away from the screen the rings will start to rotate. Now gradually get closer again…they change direction.

I find the first two sentences in this signage very important and well worded. Is it my imagination or do CRT no longer give a toss about people being individually considerate to each other ? Or is there a generally prevelant view that the pleasure of others is not relevant? There seem to have been changes over the years - another one I remember fondly was the Thames Water sign on all locks "Look behind you - don't make waves" with a picture of a boat making too much wash. Now it's just a crappy wavy line with a slash through it and "do not make wash". I remember the days (vaguely).

Or is there a generally prevelant view that the enjoyment of others is not relevant? Even more interesting is the £25 fine. When did that become a daily fine? How has that change affected the enjoyment of ‘others’? Tit!
