Tomorrow, we leave Skipton and head to Gargrave (ish).. How about asking if you can go up in the church tower in Gargrave Sunday morning to watch the bell ringing for Sunday Service? It would be something different. It's probably around 10am-ish, and if you like I can ask the precise time from the 'tower captain'.

And how about a run to Appleby & back on the Settle-Carlisle railway? Yes, that's a very beautiful journey. Not expensive either, in fact I was surprised at how cheap it was and when I mentioned it to the conductor she said it was because the line had been closed for some time after some "Middlewich breach" type of incident and they had reduced fares following the re-opening to try to re-build tourist traffic. Also there's the K&WVR not far away which was the one used in "The Railway Children", and this goes to Haworth where you can visit Anne Bronte's birthplace if that's your thing. It's operated by steam trains so you'll be...um...er...mm...

Being conscious of the fact that i post one pic at a time slowly and just maybe this not quite as efficient as them that know it all...I have finally concluded that I don't give a monkeys .... So to comment on today... Early morning wander whilst those asleep remained asleep..... Then post buying coal cast off and wrap up in blanket time as more than chilly....Wearing jumper, hoody, fleece plus body warmer and waterproof twas tad maybe to much..... Then locks and doubling up with first timers an interesting time...think the ground paddles at the locks we did are naff... Walked up the Pennine way leaving Mark n Andy to sort supper.....Quorn toad in the hole and gravy flavoured apple pie an experience to be enjoyed.......not sure that its to be recommended...but.....better than the tuna sandwiches i've offered.... I also very nobly managed to drink vino no-one else liked........... so tomorrow another day......
