Well, we're out for the bank holiday weekend and it couldn't be better. We set off Friday evening and stopped on the GOBA mornings on the Lark, just before the junction with the Ouse, then yesterday morning we headed for Aldreth High Bridge, and the GOBA moorings here on the Old West, which is where we are stopping until ambling back tomorrow. We got a second rescue Brittany Spaniel last week, so it was her first boat trip, and both of them are loving itπ Hope the rest of you are enjoying the weather as much as we are...π

Its more than possible...in fact highly probable that the inner teenager took control to-day and I waded through retreating tide, clambered over rocks, staggered up a few hills and sprinted over the straight to be the first woman up at far end of the Worms Head...closely followed by 2 young ladies whilst the dozen or so blokes I passed on my way back had waited for the Causeway to clear.....

We've been making out garden pond bigger .. ideal weather for shifting about a ton and a half of clay. Not..
Odd start to the day, our fish, about 50 of them, are currently housed in a paddling pool near the back fence, where a footpath runs past. Doorbell rang at 0800, a chap asking if we had a pond as there was a fish on said footpath. It's not easy working out how to get to the fronts of the houses from the back so he'd been looking for a few minutes. Went out to find one of our biggest carp - a good 15 inches long - just about on it's last gasp. No herons around so we assume it jumped out and went under the fence.
Put back in the pool, seems OK, and there's been a lot of scope for bad fish puns all day.
Did he scale the fence? He won't tell us, he's being Koi. etc. etc.

I see there are boats parked just above Jesus Lock on the Google Street View and Satellite view. Thanks for that. We will be going there I'm sure.

Foxy's boat will get everywhere around the Fens.
The only sticking point in Cambridge is the lack of space.
Moor on Nobel's field St Ives, get on guided bus to Cambridge, job sorted π’π»
I'm not mad keen on Cambridge, it's shit by car and boat, Ok on a bicycle or if you are fortunate to have bricks and mortar there.

Just thought we'd follow all the waterways when we're there roughly 2021-2022-2023. Two years in the Fens and away before we catch malaria or swamp dengue fever. I've never liked Cambridge, it's plain ugly, but then I don't know it well and boating gets you to stop in places and you often come to like them for something that happened there. When you get older you see things in a different light.
