This might give you an idea of what is ahead if you make it to the Calder & Hebble:

We moored in Mirfield last time we came this way. However this time we're only going into Leeds and then turning back. Too many places we want to visit that we've missed on our way out, so we'll catch them as we go back. Terrific canal. We'd forgotten how lovely it is. Mind you the weather helps Rog

I agree it is a wonderful canal, between Gargrave and the tunnel is my favourite bit.

Whilst we've heen home for the weekend I was reading my log books for our 2006 visit.
I'd forgotten, but we followed L&L short boat A40 up Greenberfield locks.
That must be an identical boat to yours I assume.
There were two friendly guys working it, who kindly let us by after the locks.

I think A40 had gone to the continent before I bought mine. So I've never seen it in person.

Rog I bought a Dawncraft 22 project in 2006, moored illegally at the end of the moorings at East end of Foulridge tunnel. The 2 shortboats were moored nearby, the owners were a couple of friendly characters, leaning very much to being "proper characters". I remember them saying they couldn't get through the West end of the tunnel because the entrance coping stones had been dropped in the cut. Re my illegal boat, cart gave me a couple of months to do the fit out and bss, it passed, I brought it home.

Done the locks, five and three, and all the C&RT staff said the moorings were much better at the Fishermans.
Gagging for a pint having been baked in the sun, so we cruised to the Fishermans and had a cheeky beer.
Very pleasant spot, and not that much further to walk, and even kris said Fishermans is a great mooring.
Certainly quieter, full of bird song, and the pub's pretty good.
Now in Bingley to eat, and hopefully go to the theatre.

The pub is okay, it's just a pity they got rid of the canal memorabilia and I wouldn't eat the food there again.
