URGENT HELP REQUIRED I am posting this on behalf of my Brother in Law who has had his canal boat/ tug boat stolen. The Boat was moored somewhere in the Oxford area. All I can say is he used to catch the train to Appleford Station in the Oxfordshire area then walk around 1 hour to the Boat. It was stolen unfortunately some time within the last month, we only found out about this yesterday. I am enclosing some photos of the Tug Boat. Please can anyone out there take the time to share this post to anyone you know. We need to find his Boat, his pride and joy. Please look out for this Boat whilst out on the Canals. ANY INFORMATION PLEASE CALL TREVOR 07514622219

Well if it took them a month to notice it was missing, I’d say they didn’t care too much about it.

Well if it took them a month to notice it was missing, I’d say they didn’t care too much about it. I'd say there are probably quite a lot of people who live a fairly long way away from their boats and might be away from it for a month? Unless the actual theft is noticed then I would imagine nearby moorers might just assume it was away cruising. For all I know, my car could have been stolen a month ago.

Ok fair cop, I misread the OP and thought the guy was living on it and going to work by the means described, but it doesn’t say that.

Not like you to post without thinking Rog What I was thinking, and still do, is that it is another of these rather odd posts about missing boats. No specific location of where it was stolen from, no boat name or index (which, whilst that is something easily change, is something normally mentioned), post not from the owner, no mention of police or crime number, no idea if the name and phone number quoted is that of the owner or of someone else trying to find the boat for other purposes. But yes my point about it being odd that the loss wasn’t noticed for a month, was invalid.

It's called "Thomas the Tug", number is presumably (from the boat listing) 53776. Apparently it has been spotted on the Thames at Appletop now.

I hope someone gives the thief a good kick in the cratch. Or perhaps the mooring pins came loose and the boat went to hide in the shrubbery opposite.

Boats left unattended are sadly tempting targets for these thieves..I hope its found and not to much damage done to it.

Is it just me who deplores these relentless insinuations that every time a boat is stolen, Rog must have had something to do with it?
