I can understand making male & female pension ages equal, but I would have expected it to happen more gradually!I started work in 1979 expecting a pension at 60.Six years is pigging thieving.I would have accepted 63 as being in the middle. It's because people live so much longer now. When the Old Age Pension was introduced, life expectancy was 65, but now, especially with the aggressive attack on smokers, everybody lives to 90, and obviously all of these oxygen thieves have to be paid for.

I saw this rather wicked bit of kit today. Looks a bit scrappy. I spotted it in Barking while acquiring some cans of red diesel. Intrigued to know what it is as I do not recall seeing a moped with two back wheels. Piaggio do the twin front wheel weird things but this looks like a good load carrier . peterboat might know what it is It says Jinn on the box so I wondered if it was for doing alcohol acquisition logistics but having looked it up that is the name of a food delivery company not the actual make of the vehicle Mot check says its a Honda Gyrocanopy but it says white The French Post is using very practical 3 wheelers Peter.

Anyway, why are women complaining about the retirement age being raised to 65? They've been campaigning for decades for equality. Now they've got it they still aren't happy.

I guess its a case of be careful what u ask for in case u get what you really don't want. In Wales bus pass at 60 ..not that I've used it yet as where I used to live not on any bus route...

I've been entitled to a bus pass for more years than I can remember but it was pointless applying as I've never been anywhere where there are any buses Phil

There's no equality for women. There's the 'glass ceiling' that stops one in 20,000 progressing as far as men. My sister, who earns £100K a year and has never met such a barrier, is very angry about it. And then there's the 'gender pay gap' which exists because men and women either choose to do different jobs, work longer or shorter hours, or both. It's so unfair, it's outrageous.

Mot check says its a Honda Gyrocanopy but it says white The French Post is using very practical 3 wheelers Peter. I do recall seeing that in France last summer. It looks like it could be electric or is it perhaps a hybrid of some sort? I suppose being left hand drive it would be awkward to handle in the UK. A hybrid tricycle. That would be excellent and as it has the 3 wheels there should be room in the frame for the batteries and an ic engine and perhaps a hub motor/generator in the front wheel. That would be a seriously handy bit of kit !! IC for range extension and electric for local low speed use.

I agree Patty. Could be very useful and quite sturdy. Wouldn't need stabilisers either on the way back from the pub ... unlike stabby's scooter Rog

Stabby's scooter moves ever onward... a second coat of red primer for the sills and undertray, I'll put a couple of coats of satin black on the sills next weekend and the undertray itself will get two coats of boat blacking paint (this area is prone to corrosion and as it's structural a potential MOT fail). I've also saturated the exhaust in Kurust. In the photo it is still soaking wet, now that it has dried off and cured it is uniformly black and I could probably get away without painting it, but I will anyway. I want it to look its best when Dickhead Dunkley's no-win no-fee libel lawyer is riding around on it as settlement for his legal fees. I also did a bit of work that can't be seen, cleaned off the engine and transmission with soapy water, a toothbrush, toothpaste and a Brillo pad etc. I found out why the rear tyre is punctured, it has a hole in the tread which was probably caused by a screw. All the time the screw was still in the tread it was a slow puncture, but it has obviously come out which is why the tyre wouldn't inflate, so I screwed another screw in there after smearing the thread with silicon, and now I can ride it up and down the farm track. Obviously I'll replace the rear tyre before taking it for MOT. Slowly getting there. And it's fun to tinker around with at the weekend.
