If Rog takes me to Court, I shall claim insanity.
Anyway, YAY! Got the rope off the prop axle! Much pleased. I must invent a system so I do not forget the rope again when driving out of locks - and then I realised. I did the Tardebigge 42 up no problems. Suddenly it hit me - here there are no mushrooms/posts to wind the centre rope round! With that, you can't drive out of a lock and have the rope trailing behind you. I have noticed there are many design flaws with this Shropshire Union Canal. Hastily cobbled together project. And... fuck you Bridge 39 Monkey... I'm coming for you!!!

But not before she deleted her excesses from last night, including editing my posts which quoted them. And not a trace left to show any edits. Except my screenshots, of course! She missed the odd bit - anyway; the posts that reveal the workings and thought process of what goes for her brain are on here for all the lovely cwdf lurkers to see - including the sycophantic Cereal Tiller; and to think mjg was described as a toadying wanker over there!

I looked this morning and it was all cleaned up nicely. i always miss the juicy bits. Just looked back through that thread and LadyG edited 8 of her own posts (going back over a period of 9 hours or so) and 4 of other people's. You can't see how many were completely deleted of course. That must have been quite a bit of work for sure. Roger

When I look at CWDF on my ipad, which I normally do, it doesn't show "edited by LadyG" etc. The posts just change without any trace. Which was rather pissing me off. But I now realise that when I look at same on my laptop, it does say "edited by LadyG". And yes quite a lot of it.
She did however leave this bit: "I am explaining to those who don't know, that they would not be on here very long if any mod chose to get rid of them." Which translates as we can exterminate you just because we don't like you, not because you have breached any of the rules and guidelines. But then we knew that anyway I suppose!

Roger If you look back before she was a mod, she was always editing her own posts, I used to quote her when she got it wrong, which meant she got caught out, others did the same to her

Yes, I did think that that comment was a bit Big Brother-ish. The only saving grace, if you are charitable, is that she might mean it to imply that the reason that some people were still on the thread/still not banned, and who could otherwise easily be removed if the mods were that way inclined, were still there despite the mods ability to remove them and that the mods had taken no such such action. If she had added the phrase 'But we haven't chosen to do so' then it might have clarified the post slightly (if that is what she truly meant to say of course ) Roger

Telemachus has won post of the day and it's only 10:00 nicknorman 2574 nicknorman #268 Posted 2 minutes ago 4 minutes ago, rowland al said: Personally I donβt see the the point in having moderators. If the site owner gets any legal instructions (or threats of action) then they can act on it themselves. Itβs up to the members to moderate themselves really, remembering that their posts could cause a forum shutdown if they are being too disrespectful. Speaking of shutdown, if this forum moved to facebook, those like myself who donβt do facebook, would look for an alternative. All of which is of course exactly what happens on TB. However for some reason I don't fully understand, some folk cannot bear to see certain strings of letters written down and are thus prevent themselves from joining in. Shame really π»π

I too use a rope when single handing. However the general idea with a centre rope is that it isn't quite long enough to reach the prop. Although thinking about it, I suppose that also depends on boat length.

I think the best term for LadyG is 'tired & emotional'. Or 'nutter'.
