As this is a boat and waterway forum I started thinking about how high up people are when on boats or by the water.
Canals have been built by humans. Its amazing. And rivers flow down hill. Equally amazing. And all houses are above sea level. Brilliant.
So what is your height above mean sea level in metres?
MAMSL. Metres Above Mean Sea Level.
Its going to be amazing finding this out I can feel it in my bones.

180m. 1 lock down from Summit pound @ 183m/600ft. Highest broad cut. What's my prize..... Afaik its the highest ordinary mooring in the country, there's only the tunnel trip boat moored at the top of the Huddersfield, which is 630ft.

98ft, but seemingly if I go through a small tunnel and no locks I go up to 120ft (on a canal). Not sure I believe either figure for accuracy. Measured using Memory Map.
Just been outside with the GPS - shows between 94ft and 99ft so expect the real answer is do you want the measurement at my feet or my head.

My mooring is on the 325' contour. Canals having been built to Imperial measurements.
What are these "metres" of which you speak?

A meter is a unit of measurement.
It is defined as approximately 3.28 feet (from memory)
One foot being 12 inches and 1 inches being 25.4 millimeters.

Boat is near NN14 3ED and is approximately 31m (102ft) above sea level. - take about 5-6β off that and youβd probably be about right for average river level. checkmypostcode.uk/nn143ed#summaryGazza towers is approximately 105m (344ft) above sea level - it doesnβt seem that steep a hill!

It looks like its worth being well above sea level these days with global warnings and dodgy political situations. I'd rather be on a boat myself but a hill looks like a good idea. Even if its quite small hill. Its still a hill. today

A meter is a unit of measurement. Not so. A meter is a device which measures the amount of something which is used. Were you thinking of "metre" ?
