At 1716 hrs on 12 August 2024, Vince 'Shit-for-Brains' Coventon, also known by his own chosen internet name of 'Mr Stabby' - posted the following wilful lie on the internet :- "I live in a house in Kent where I pay Council Tax and am on the electoral register.
Shown below is a fairly recent photo, taken through one of the windows of Vince 'Shit-for-Brains' Coventon's genuine sole full-time residence, . . a borrowed uninsured narrow beam steel canalboat that, despite pretending to, he does NOT own, but has lived aboard full time at the same canalside farm moorings since some time in late 2014 :- The photo, which he took himself, is of Shit-for-Brains Coventon's car, . . and was certainly NOT taken from any window of the address (house) in Kent that he's currently, and has long been dishonestly declaring to all and sundry, including the DVLA and the Police, as his sole residence for the last 9(+) years, . . it was taken through one of the windows of the uninsured borrowed boat ('Desiree' - Index No 73371) that Shit-for-Brains falsely claims to own.
Fact is, that despite claiming to live in Kent, . . in a house for which he says he pays Council Tax, and is on the electoral register, . . this pathological liar lives permanently, full time, on board a boat that someone else owns, and which he moors and keeps for most of every year on the boat moorings at Colehurst Farm, Rugby, CV23 0PT, alongside the (North) Oxford Canal, close to the villages of Stretton-under-Fosse and Brinklow. *

We have decided another boat trip is in order, so heading down next week for a trip to Stratford and back, stoppages permitting. And I have lovely new stern fenders to install. How long you going to be out for ? Fazeley to Stratford could take us weeks but I know you 'boat with intent' We did Stratford in February ... it is lovely. Hope you have a great time. Rog

Fun job tomorrow glazing a very large greenhouse. We took it down from Fairbourne across the river and erected it on a concrete slab in the customer's garden over 3 days last month. Problem is that the cowboy who installed the base made a right balls of it. It's not even close to being flat. This has resulted in the openings for the glass being so distorted that the glass won't fit. My idea here is to use the quad bike with ropes off the towbar to force the openings into shape, get the glass in and hope that the pressure once the ropes are released doesn't shatter the (toughened) glass. The only other way would be to take the greenhouse down again and completely re-do the base.
We will see.

Probably 8 or 9 days. Canalplan says 7 days via Camp Hill both ways, or 8 days via camp hill 1 way and N Stratford the other way - at 7 hrs a day. Generally we make better time than canalplan defaults. We have to drive back on 27th as I am duty instructor at the gliding club on 28th.

It's a great run as you know.
Hope the weather's kind.
Canalplan is handy for a rough guide to cruise length, but it does tend to err on the side of slow even for us.
I checked Hawkesbury to Rugby this morning ... suggested over 5 hours.
To Newbold took about three and half, and we stopped for diesel on the way at Armada Boats.

It alao occurred to me that the new coaching launch could be a very interesting platform for a steam plant.
I think having a steam launch could prove to be quite enjoyable in a number of different regards but it is rather more arduous than electric and its GRP hull with plywood topsides so a fire may not be all that sensible.

Blue sky and sunshine after a cold night (my mate says there was frost on the ground at Foxton where he's moored).
Glad the fire's still in, although the forecast looks good for next week (back to double figure temps overnight), so not sure for how much longer.
If Ian's looking in, sorry you deleted although I get why. I enjoyed your posts about your family, your boat, your cars and inconsequential stuff. This place needs more like you ππ»

ETA oh and be careful everyone as it's Friday the 13th. Of course I don't believe in that shite. (Touch wood)

Statistically Friday the 13th is just as likely to be good luck as it is to be any other kind of luck. Its actually the same as any other day.
