Ok, own up. Who hasn't got a First Aid kit on their boat?
We didn't when we picked up our injuries (well there was a bottle whisky!) but have now.
Maybe a defibrillator is going too far, but what if? Made me think I suppose.

I have the first aid kit which is mandatory for trucks operating in Europe on my boat, and many other things besides, although Duck Tape and kitchen towel seem to be the most commonly used items for most injuries I pick up.

If I was a CCer then the two most essential items would be Amoxycillin and industrial strength Co-codamol. Strictly speaking you shouldn't have either as they are prescription-only but there are ways and means...

I once sacked sombody for doing just that.

I've my own nurse, ex A&E, ex Medical Assessment and now Chemo and Hematology - covers most bases I'm Also a trained first aider - only had to stick plasters on so far though! St John do some good gear on their website, not the cheapest but it is going to a reasonable outfit rather than some pikey on eBay!!!

Serious question Martin, don't you have to keep one aboard your vehicle in some European Countries when your touring,or even motoring in general I guess? I recently bought a new Skoda Octavia VRS for the missus and was pissed off to see just an empty space in the boot where it should have been fitted.Penny Pinching or what ?

Compulsory in Austria only I think. recomended or not required in others. advice varies sometimes but we just carry one anyway.

It's compulsory to carry a first aid kit in all vehicles in France at least, although they seem to consist mostly of sticking plasters. EDIT Having checked, some sources say it is compulsory and some say it isn't.
