incidentally for the technically inclined the first shot was taken with a Pentax P30N on Kodak Ultramax 400 ASA film using a Pentax A 28 ~ 80mm zoom the middle one was taken with a Sanyo S120 and the third with a Hitachi HDC1496E/P Yes, but were the focal lengths used, and aperture and shutter speeds? Any filters? If not, why not? And were the cameras on a tripod??!!

I'm going to have a go at this imgur thingy to see how it works, as a photo on the page that's already there when you open the thread is more 'shocking' than having to click on, for example, a link to a Google Photos 'album'. And, Peter, what can possibly be more important than having a spectacular breath-taking photo to show to the whole world here on Sept 22nd? It's all about promoting interest and enthusiasm in the inland waterways (mostly). And then.... there's the Prize for the winner!!

imgur.com/0F55cB1Huh - how do we get pictures from imgur to appear as pictures and not just a link? Just re-read Delta's instructions and Saltysplash's - but am still clueless.

Just pull it back in with the string, of course! I think I was getting a lock ready. Southern Oxford Canal, Cropredy, August 2014. Just a photo to test how I can splat one up without the link. But you know, when people come to show you how to do things they just shove you aside and start tapping madly on the keyboard and you never really get it. We live in a world of computers but only 1% have received proper schooling in how they work.
