It's always good to beat Australia...at anything.

It's always good to beat Australia...at anything. Not only beat them but trounce them. They seemed overwhelmed, England were far too good for them this time. Another match now, I like times the games are on, it leaves a lot of the day free.

Brilliant game between two good teams. Australia were dangerous throughout and it certainly didn't feel like a 40 point hammering. England's defence was spectacularly good ... Australia tried to run it from everywhere which gave us the edge. What chances we had, we scored. Come on Ireland ! Rog England were good. Australia not so...NZ next for us. Gulp! My half Irish Ali is not happy ☹️

NZ are excellent ... but Ireland helped them so much ... really poor error strewn game by Ireland.
England v NZ will be a worthy semi final.
I hope BOTH teams play well and that the best team wins due to their good play.

Wales through, I'm pleased for them, but... The better team lost after the red card. What a twat!

Even with only 14 men, but for two missed conversions France would have won.
Wales lacked ANY creativity ... very dull ... and to be honest the winning try was very fortuitous.
But I'm pleased Wales and of course England are through.
Got to go to work now so I'll watch the Japan v S. Africa game later ... expecting oodles of creativity and exciting, expansive play in that ... we'll see.
Hope Japan can do it again but I suspect not.

So the semis are fixed and two great, but very different types of game may be expected. England v New Zealand Saturday 9am Everyone is sure NZ are clear favourites and will comfortably win Last game we played against NZ, we lost by 1 point after having a winning try cancelled due to a (very marginal) offside call. With Mitchell, Weizmantle and Fast Eddie himself being the coaches, I believe an appropriate game plan will be implemented and England give up less tries than most teams, whilst scoring loads. We can enjoy what should be a fantastic game as apparently NZ are simply too good ... we shall see. Wales v S. Africa 9am Sunday Could be a physical arm wrestle. Neither team have shown any creativity, although both have creative, quality players. I believe S. Africa under the guidance of the utterly brilliant Faff de Klerk may edge it, but a Wales v England final would be pretty awesome. Hope for two great games and no disgrace to lose in a semi ... may the best teams win Rog

I see that New Zealand, England, Wales and South Africa have reached the semi finals. What a massive shock. I guess it would be an even bigger shock if New Zealand won it.

This is a rugby thread still ... no need to visit as I know you don't like rugby. I realise you probably forgot Rog I've always thought that rugby was too predictable, in terms of who wins, to be interesting as a game. As well as all the hoofing and amount of time taken up by collapsed scrums etc. You're right though, so I'll butt out of the thread. Might just have one more post, when New Zealand, very predictably, win the world cup.
