Anyone know what this is? It looks a little bit intriguing. Possibly a SOLAS item. Teak handrail around the outside. The type you get on the top of a lot of cruisers. The white thing. I know what the orange thing is To me it almost looks like a floating bed'ole. There is a hatch on the top visible in the picture but it seemed to be bolted down. The oval things appear to be portholes with transparent perspex. I did not prod it but would say GRP probably. I think it's really quite wicked.

An unidentified floating object is generally a turd. In this case though, I don't think it is.

It looks like a smiley at the end, two eyes and a mouth.

How much for a CRT licence for this? Would be fun, especially dressed in a space suit.

I still giggle when I read NASA. Need Another Seven Astronauts. I think that came in after the Challenger explosion. That was quite an impressive failure.

A kayak paddle blade! Useless on its own. Throw it back in.

I very much doubt it is a SOLAS item, may be a modified Carley floatπ€, or most likely a home made jobbie based on a Carley floatπ

Not a floating object but a flying object.A first for me today, drove past a decent size helicopter being transported on the back of a lorry heading for Scotland. It was covered in plastic,so looked like it was being kidnapped ! π

Will he be doing free trips for his besties? Did it have rivets?

When I was but a callow youth serving my apprenticeship there was a rivet making factory near my place of work. All the ally rivets were different colours to denote which day of the week they were. The rivets were annealed and only "fresh" rivets were used. Those unused ones were annealed on the appropriate day ready for use again. This was of course back in the day when aircraft skins were riveted on unlike today. I believe Areldite was produced to stick the skin on the DH Comet. Sorry for the digress, as you all were and crack on Phil

It has got an inside space and the hatch on the top does open. I dont know what you would call it. It was for sale at the bottom of the erewash canal this time last year. I thought about buying it my self. I didnt because i dont think you could row it or attach an engine, so it would have to be towed everywhere.
