I bet they go to bed at 9pm too! And watch Nature programmes on BBC1 before the News - it's always a bit awkward, and time to make a cup of refreshing tea, when they show the lions mating, though.

Like John, from force of habit I don't drink while on the move (stick to tea & usually lots of it), however that certainly doesn't stop us from pulling up at a pub for a few beers with lunch, or even a mid afternoon break if the pub looks inviting as we pass by. judging by the number of other customers and boats moored nearby I suspect I an not the only one who does this.

Quite. A new minister for misery appears to have popped up in the last few days. Having a couple of drinks on the move is one of the best things about boating. That's not the same as boating when drunk. I noticed that too, shame the rules prevent a gentle bit of leg pulling these days. Not possible to pull the leg of someone with a broom up their arse and talking of arses, Howardang is a classic example. Phil

Phil It is a pity that some people will jump to conclusions on the whimsiest of evidence (empty or near empty bottle of alcohol nearby), without considering other possible reasons for seemingly strange behaviour and reactions. Hypothermia or diabetes spring immediately to mind and I have no doubt there may well be other medical conditions where the symptoms could be confused as being drunk by a lay person.

I was tempted to use my sock puppet but I think it would have been too obvious so I just read and smiled.

Just corrected my earlier post where I wrote Hyperthermia, where I meant to write Hypothermia which is the condition of having an abnormally (typically dangerously) low body temperature.
