I've always been quite happy to empty a cassette toilet myself, never really understood why anyone would not be happy but a lot of people don't seem to want to see the food more than once.

Right over the years I have had a few ladies whilst boating ! J mother of my daughter hated boating but now she has a camper has changed her mind 2 B liked boating but wouldnt leave her house for one 3 C has a boat and wouldnt live in a house 4 L had a boat loved living in a boat but inherited a house in a lovely area now lives there 5 z loved making the boat rock but couldnt see it as a long term thing 6 A loved making the boat rock but wanted a widebeam 7 L loved narrowboat and widebeam and lived part time on both [shame we fell out] 8 S didnt like boating full stop 9 J loves boating and the boat and would happily live on board full time As you can see from the list you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find the princess boater, I would not live in a house in preference to the boat I cant explain why. The above list isnt complete I have had some ladies on trial but arnt worth listing

One of the benefits of living on a boat is the number of opportunities it provides to meet members of the opposite sex. If you love dogs, as I do, making a fuss of one that walks past, or throwing sticks for it inevitably leads to a conversation. It could be short and sweet, or it could be lengthy. Many people are genuinely fascinated by the way we live our lives. That 'fascination' rarely leads to anything more than conversation but, on occasion, it does.
My experience is that if you make an effort it's reasonably easy to 'get with' someone. Certainly easier than trying to do it down the pub. Not as easy as at work, but there you go. As for anything longer term, I wouldn't know, I've not been interested in that over the past few years.

As for anything longer term, I wouldn't know, I've not been interested in that over the past few years. I must admit I can barely let an inquisitive dog go by without some attempt to engage with it. I suppose if you're on the move a fair bit- say you were cruising your way around the network a bit- then it could be a bit more difficult to form a relationship. But in my case I think I'm actively avoiding getting involved with anyone at the moment. It'd be no use me dating someone here in Newcastle, then in three months its 'see you later'. It would feel dishonest, I think- pointless, even. And I might get hooked up as well, and not end up on a boat. I don't really date for recreation- or at least yes, as in its a good laugh, but its also like an interview. I think I have what I'll admit is a very weird mindset that its not worth dating someone unless you actually feel you could spend a long time with them. And if it becomes clear in the first few dates that there is a major snag, I'm gone. I think I've made enough 'wrong' choices in the past that I'm now a bit hasty in deciding its not a goer. But if I'm ever 'looking' again, its good to know there are at least some single people knocking about the network, so its not like I'm signing up for a monastery at least.

JohnV is definitely after a worm digging bird with her own boat and a semi diesel motor. And a knitting needle and a sewing machine and a cooker and knowledge on how to use it. Can't blame him really to be fair.

It's really sad that the charity shops are closed.
At least I assume they are closed. I have not been to check but I would guess they are closed.
I liked charity shops.
