Going to have a go at turning Sabina round at her berth today (fingers crossed)
It will be tight as the river is only about as wide as Sabina is long, long ropes and winch on standby incase we get stuck plus a big old fork truck and a tow line as a last resort.
If we can get her turned round it means I will be able to single hand her down river to the Old Harbour, If I can't get round I have to back half a mile down the river with trees in one side and moored boats on the otherside. ....... and Sabina doesn't like going backwards. you have to have someone on the bow with a mud weight keeping the bow from swinging and fenders handy.
It's not so bad forwards, I don't mind smashing down trees with the bow but I fear for my wheelhouse windows going backwards.
Possibility of a short visit to CRT waters

The first of the flood arrived as did a bridge crew an engineer and the Harbour master. the barriers went down ....
the alarms sounded ........................ after a few minutes the barriers went back up again.
They worked on it for about another 3 hours or so ..... no joy.
Apparently a bridge engineer has been called ......... but won't arrive until Monday !!!
The ex commercial barge owners meet is Saturday and Sunday
The harbour master has called me and told me they are going to have another electrician come and test out some of the control boards tomorrow ..... but they are not hopeful
I am going to call my insurance company tomorrow morning and talk to them ....... as I am stranded here on a tidal river unable to proceed I have only two options
No. 1 try and drift back up the river for a couple of miles and hope I can turn round where they used to turn the Sheffield barges round in the working days (unlikely because apart from the fact I'm bigger than Sheffield size the whole thing is silted up and overgrown) or continue to drift back all the way to Beverley. In theory this is possible on one tide as that is what they used to do.
This also exposes me to tree damage to the solar panels, aerials etc on the wheelhouse
The other option is to get a tug to tow me backwards back to Beverley (river tug/workboats are low enough to get under the bridges)
I'm wondering if I can pass the bill for the tug onto Hull City council as they are responsible for bridges allowing passage along a PRN
I wonder what Nigel Moore or Tony Dunkley would have to say on the matter

Why not just stay where you are? passenger needs to get away
No water point
bloody noisy, less than 100 yards from a busy dual carriage way
why the hell would I want to stay here ?
