A good excuse to post this. Pic (again) from October 2011. On a run back to our mooring we met Battlstone in Castleford Cut as we left Bullholme Lock. Where were they delivering to in 2011/2012?
To a ready-mix concrete plant at Whitwood, . . on the outskirts of Wakefield. The wharf and yard was the old Whitwood pit loading basin, right next to the now disused Fairies Hill Lock off the river Calder.

Battlestone is moored alongside Seagull (which is on the slip at Paul presently. Believe it is up for sale either as is, but if no interest they are going to shorten her to a more saleable length.) Don't recognise the barge behind Battlestone, Delta maybe ? She is alongside Hidekal and inside her is the Selby Doris with the vast wheelhouse. (she apparently is up for sale as well but she needs a lot of work on the hull.
