You don't have too be rich to build a property empire, I remember reading of a couple of teachers in Kent who had amassed over 1,000 properties all leveraged. It helps if house prices keep rising no doubt!

It helps if house prices keep rising no doubt! You're right. Couple of teacher salaries: £60-120K. Uber taxi driver working 10 hour nights, 6 nights a week, wife and numerous kids to support, £30K tops. You can leverage (buy, borrow against 6 months later for the deposit on the next one etc. etc.) but you have to have significant earnings, be that from salary or established investment returns. Or benefits, possibly.

He won't be a drug dealer as wrong profile. Possible involvement in organised crime of another kind.
Maybe the woman does work but does not declare the money.
They could have been small scale lottery winners.
Football pools.
Found suitcase of cash in park.
There are numerous possibilities.

The other Pakistani who visited though, I know him as 'Mr Big', could well have been. I don't think he has shooters himself, that will be down to his henchmen. The aura around him was tangible. You just know, somehow.

Well fancy that, Abdul has reappeared: 'Sorry for the delay. Other sister of solicitor caught covid and died. This caused delay. I now have cash on bank and want to complete tomorrow.' I don't think Proboards encourage gambling so these are theoretical odds only: Solicitor has 2 sisters: 2:1 1 sister of solicitor has died of covid: 25:1 2 sisters of solicitor have died of covid: 50,000:1 Abdul has £150,000 'cash on bank': 100:1 Abdul's solicitor will contact mine, and exchange contracts tomorrow: 10:1 The conveyances will never be completed: evens Roll up, roll up. Do we have a winner yet?

I would have put a wager on the 2 sisters at 50,000 to 1. That was pretty generous considering the fact that what with them being furrin and quite probably living in substandard accommodation with little social distancing and probably not a lot of ventilation. And were the samosas made while wearing a face mask, gloves and knee pads? I doubt it. And what about the ears? We had a boy at school who could expel smoke from a cigarette via his ears.
Ear based viral transmission could be the untold nightmare about to be unleashed on western populations by Asians.
Who would bet against it ?

Sorry, but I just have to ask. Is his name actually "Abdul" or is this just a generic name for Pakis?

Do we have a winner yet? Not many takers so far. Perhaps the range of bets available isn't wide enough. I know that folk like to bet on diverse things these days, in this diverse world we live in. So, there are some additions to the menu: Abdul has less than 5 kids: Evens Abdul has more than 5 kids: 4:5 All the kids in Abdul's house were spawned by him: 1:100 The benefits Abdul receives are greater than his Uber earnings: Evens Abdul 'operates' under more than one name: 2:1 Abdul is the kingpin of the Manchester drug business 10,000:1 If Abdul completes the purchases the tenants will receive a rent increase within 2 weeks: Evens I'd enjoy an evening down the mosque with Abdul munching on samosas and sipping salt lassi more than I'd enjoy an evening down the pub with typical boorish, loudmouth regulars: 1:5

Sorry, but I just have to ask. Is his name actually "Abdul" or is this just a generic name for Pakis? It was Foxy who suggested his name was Abdul. It kinda stuck. His name is actually Majid. It's awkward, when I send him texts the predictive function changes it to 'Masjid'. Sometimes I forget to check and send text to Masjid. He probably thinks I'm really rude (as well as being white trash). Mind you, Masjid is Indonesian for 'Mosque'. Maybe he knows that and thinks it's really sweet that I'm so thoughtful as to name him after the house of God.

That's news to me. When have I come up with your neighbour being called Abdul? As Stabbers remarks, an odd name for a Pakistini - they are 99% 'Ali'. As for Majid, the only Majid I have seen is that Somali Sheffield mayor 'Magic Majid'. (photo not available as Imgur's app is not working)

Majid Khan, famous cricketer back in the day. As a matter of interest, are all Pakistanis called Khan? (would assist with benefit fraud, if they were) And what's that Arabic for, God perhaps?

And still likely to do well, above more common names. Bit like those with a Norman name, tend to be better off, our land and wealth that was redistributed to them seems to have stuck over the years.
