Was bloody funny that comment lol. How much more ridiculous can cwdf get? Do they realise how stupid and childish they look? Obviously not.

"The other place is where people can rant on about immigrants" ...is Dave_P 'southernstar'... (he ponders to himself...)

Arthur Marshall - " I wish I knew what "the forum that must not be named" is.... " someone please send him a PM (you KNOW the mods aren't reading THOSE!) and let him in - but only if he knows a good chicken joke * Graham Davis says he too wishes to know the name of this site - someone please send him a PM too!!! * but now I see he has had a browse and is not interested. Do you think he has read all of those books behind him, or was the photo taken in IKEA?

Well, I said elsewhere on here why I came over to the 'dark side' , but I have to take issue with the seeming generalisation on CWDF that the defectors to here all seem to be brexiteer, anti-immigrant blinkered types. For the record, my politics are just left of centre, I was a remainer , and I don't have a problem with immigration. My point in declaring all this is that I want to be part of a community where robust discussion can take place from ALL points of view without strict censorship. I have no time for genuine bullying or persecution and they should have no place anywhere, but debate must be free ranging and robust and as such I believe on a decent forum will ultimately be self policing. My only niggle with this site, and it is only a little niggle, is an excess of swearing where it's just gratuitous and does not benefit the thread in content or comedy value. Don't get me wrong, I can swear with the best of them (engineering workshop, all male), but I've found as I've got older I like gratuitous swearing less.....but this is just my personal opinion, and I know for some people it's a release.

As my (ex) father in law would say "Swear, swear, Ah dinna fuckin swear"
But in general I agree, sometimes it comes out well as humour and of course not forgetting Tomsk's sometimes excellently targeted "Twat"
but as I say, in general yes.

Have to agree, again my background in engineering means I am no stranger to swearing but I would prefer to see less in threads. However there is a place for well chosen expletives in gags or humourous posts, they're necessary to carry some jokes or ripostes off. Gratuitous swearing is off putting to new posters/members and visitors Phil

The bad swearing put me off joining the forum at first, but then certain potty mouthed posters disappeared...There's still some swearing, but it's usually meant in humour(I think !).I can let rip with a few choice words on occasion, but I don't tend to swear in public. I save the worst for my husband 😃😃.The forum has calmed down a lot since the very early days-apart from Naughty Fox who continues to be a total headbanger from a parallel universe.(No offence meant Foxy 😜😜).

I save the worst for my husband 😃😃.The forum has calmed down a lot since the very early days-apart from Naughty Fox who continues to be a total headbanger from a parallel universe.(No offence meant Foxy 😜😜). My youngest son uses the f... word to excess....hes former Marine and I hate use of foul mouthed expletives peppering all his conversations. He's recently had to clean up his language due to being in the public eye but last night he heard of something that i had carefully kept quiet and the floodgates opened...he had not forgotten how to overuse the f word.... On here i also found the excessive use of the expletives a tad off putting and it prevented me from posting. I lurked and read but could not engage. I felt it could be preventing the site from attracting members. It has calmed down and now hopefully will attract even more people dissatisfied with moderating practises "over there". I think the site is improving and strengthening. Foxy's comments are well Foxy and add to the site..I like his humour and Tomsk.. the t word kinda brings it all down to earth. I am not anti immigration nor a Brexitier...I like a pleasant calm peaceful existence. I don't swear very often don't see that there is any need.
