I remember thebfg commenting on wanting a loud air horn for the Scirroco DeLorean. Anyway I have finalled achieved what I set out to achieve which is a 12v driven automatically replenishing tank driven air horn. And it works. LOUD. Components: Bare truck air horn. Associated pipework EMPTY Fire extinguisher with internal gas bottle removed. Look for the type with a gauge AND a Schrader valve on the neck.i found one in the River. Standard commercial fire extinguisher. Cheapo 12v tyre compressor. Clip this to the Schrader valve on neck of fire extinguisher. Cheapo screw-in pressure switch. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Reliable-1-8-Port-Adjustable-Diaphragm-Type-Pressure-Switch-QPM11-NC-New-/133094644070 I found out that these switches have the same thread as the extinguisher's pressure gauge so you unscrew that, nick the O-ring off it and screw the pressure switch in onto the O-ring.. Wire the positive of the tyre compressor through the pressure switch. Connect to a fused 12v supply. The pump will run until the switch turns it off. Switch is adjustable. I set mine to 80psi reading on the tyre compressor which is LOUD. This way you will not run out of air unless you do a very long blast of the horn. Another approach would be to use a digital tyre pump with preset pressure but I am unsure whether they allow 80psi. I've not used this much yet but I think it could work out reasonably good and the costs were about £20 plus the truck horn which in my case I got for a fiver.

So it's not unreasonable to expect that they might. You could always swap oats for beans...

Just realised I forgot to explain how to make the noise.
You actuate the fire extinguisher.
It is important in this design to either hide the fire extinguisher or disguise it so that nobody thinks it is a fire extinguisher.
In my case there was space in a cupboard below the Morse control and I managed to arrange for a length of M8 studding with a threaded ball on the end for actuating the horn.
Quite tidy by my standards actually. I was a Bit Surprised by this.

I expect Ricco could have knocked up a suitable enclosure from a pallet and some 4" nails, all brought to site secured onto his motorbike by some rubber bands.
where is the old soldier anyway? I haven't heard from him here or on the other channel for weeks.

Clinton Cool was on here quite recently bemoaning the lack of a comfortable internet signal in his sitting room in the new house. Maybe he has found a rare welshbit and the forum has declined in popularity.

I forgot to mention that I used 8mm copper tube for the vertical part going up to the cabin top, 8mm hole through lining and cabin top, a plastic bottle cap with a hole, slotted over the top of the tube and a load of PU18 "sikaflex" stuff as a weather seal then 8mm internal diameter flexible hose from the exposed end of the copper tube to the horn air input with the right size fuel hose clamps to secure it all.
I could have used a bulkhead fitting but this would have meant cutting a larger hole in the lining and that would have needed finishing so I went for the straight through option.
The exit area is now covered by one of the big solar panels anyway so unlikely to have any weather issues.

It won't be as loud.
They might advertise it as loud but at the end of the day you need a tank supplied truck horn to do the job properly.
300db sounds a bit like a trip to the hospital to me !
And total bullshit of course

Nice job. It is something I'm looking at.
What we need is some photos and a video.
