I thought you trusted experts? If they are commenting within their field of expertise. Janci's witterings are condemned in a few places. Vaccine production and development isn't what her pH.D is about. The most damning point is that naughtyfox has wheeled her out as evidence. So when the experts in the field stated that there were weapons of mass destruction, did you believe that as well?

I theink that like many, I was highly suspicious but I remember posting at the time that if you have an elected government that claims they have sensitive information that confirms this that cannot be shown openly because it would cost the lives of the informants.
There comes a point where however doubtful you may be, you have to trust that your elected representatives will do the right thing, after all they were democratically elected.
In the past this has generally worked fairly well.
It was just extremely unfortunate that at that time the prime minister was a certain Mr B Liar

I think that's the point. Somebody may have some level of expertise in a particular field yet there can still be reasons for them to mis-represent a situation, typically for reasons of career advancement or personal financial betterment. Sadly a person who feels endangered is vulnerable to exploitation by someone they perceive to be "expert" who offers them a hand to hold and promises to lead them to safety. Certainly something doesn't ring true about the whole thing. Perhaps they know something which it's felt we are better off not knowing but the collateral damage from the economic shutdowns will be widespread.

This thread continues in it's cyclical manner with no one listening to anyone else and 'experts' being drawn for and against like Mr Stabby 's knife. The simple fact is naughtyfox continually misrepresents the current situation in the UK, for whatever reason, choosing to dismiss contradictory evidence ... personal eye witness evidence , of the current situation, preferring to paint some kind of doom laden picture. His choice, however as he's not been in the UK for over 18 months one would expect he would listen to the reality. Sometimes there's no point talking. Rog

Ooo the Southampton Gaumont that was a great gig to do such a helpful crew and Stage Manager, it will remain one of my favourite places. Wish I could remember the SM name That's going back. My mate worked there for well forever, but I'm not sure he goes back to the gaumont days. Ian cunningham. Does sound or something. Name doesn't ring a bell. Thinking about it the chap wasn't the SM but was Technical Manager, always greeted you by your first name and understood what you were trying to do and went out of his way to help. Think my first time there may have been in 1973 but can't be sure it was certainly before 1975😎 Yes I am an old git.

Please naughtyfox take note ... yesterday we went to the launderette, the pub, McD's, and B&M (even though there's no B&M in Rugby trademark Mr Stabby ) and no masks were worn by anyone ... I'd have to say that my own personal experience differs from this. I did my weekly supermarket run last Wednesday, at Morrisons at Binley, and went shopping for gardening supplies at B&M at Walsgrave the day before and in both places I'd say 80-85% of my fellow shoppers were wearing face nappies.

What do you expect in a place called Binley?
To be fair similar experience in Marlow although there is not a B in Marlow.

There isn't a B&M in Walsgrave. quaysider was asked to wear a mask in a barbers so went elsewhere. The barbers, hairdressers and beauty (nails and tanning) places I passed and looked in at, we're mask free. I wandered around Rugby town and visited loads of shops and a cafe and was NEVER asked to wear a mask, and the vast majority of people (guess over 80% but just a guess) weren't wearing them either (including staff). Bizarrely, those wearing masks tended to wear them outside too, which struck me as odd, but each to their own. The fact remains in the UK it is all optional now ... no longer mandatory ... and despite fox's doom laden postings we ARE moving on. Rog

I'll keep it in mind. Plenty of pictures and stories turn up on local Facebook pages.

Might well have been but my memory is not so good Seem to remember he retired about the time it became the Mayflower.
