Only five days to go until I am as protected as I can be (3weeks after second jab). Might even consider going somewhere other than collecting our shopping next weekπ

Exactly same as me Julian, I nearly wasnt given the second, a phone call to the hospital was made to make sure it was ok.
I ended up in the hospital at the six week stage with a swollen leg which was suspected thrombosis, 2 scans and X ray plus injection in stomach plus two more visits gave me the all clear
Talk about wasting hospital time and NHS resources. "A phone call to the hospital to make sure it was OK" - what does that even mean? How do they know? It's an experimental drug. They don't care who gets jabbed - if you die or are seriously harmed, the pharmaceutical companies have been given exemption from responsibility. Obviously you got your shot without the required 'informed consent'. Hardly ethical. It was fine Foxy they care so they made a phone call, weather is wonderful here today boat nice and cool might go out for a quick cruise on the boat what about yourself? is your boat ok

I found myself in the Swan at Stone drinking hand pulled beers from Abbeydale brewery. Smashing pub, with always an excellent range of beers. Table service which makes life very easy for the customer, but hard work for staff. Nothing dystopian going on naughtyfox ... relax and enjoy your holiday Rog

It is ... the Old Post Office ... but I like the Swan.
I'm not exclusively a W's man.

Can only remember the Star (because of the lock) but which one was it that got closed down last lockdown/subsequent one for having those illegal Covid parties?

The Crown & Anchor was closed down for covid breaches and is to reopen 7 June ... it's up near The Poste of Stone (the W's pub everyone calls the Post Office). The Swan is on the opposite side of the canal from The Star, about 30 yards along the road from the canal, in towards town. Well worth a visit is the Swan, if you like beer Rog

I can't comment on the vaccine as I refused it. I have to be fair to the NHS though. While they weren't over the moon when I explained that I didn't want to be a guinea pig for their experimental vaccine they didn't go to any great length with a counter argument. Where they were fair was that they haven't chosen to call me regularly to try to coerce me into changing my mind. This compares favourably with the 'smart meter' people who don't seem to want to take 'no' for an answer. Several calls now, each time my 'no' is a little stronger. I described it as a useless piece of junk last time, an accurate description. Let's hope they get the message now.

They phone you?
I haven't had any phone calls. Have had several text messages about it and I only have a mobile phone so maybe this is why.
I have also declined the invitation to have a vaccine. I'm not remotely bothered about whether it is experimental or what but I am not having any vaccines. It won't happen.
That's why I dislike the term vaccine hesitant.
hesitant /ΛhΙzΙͺt(Ι)nt/ Learn to pronounce adjective tentative, unsure, or slow in acting or speaking. "clients are hesitant about buying"
Not my bag at all.
I think they ought to do a "vaccine decisive" term here !

I'm ambivalent about 'vaccine hesitant'. 'Antivaxxer', I despise. OK, there might be some high profile characters who are going around bigging up refusing the vaccine to whom the term might be reasonable but for the likes of me, the negative connotation of it is uncalled for. I guess that's a significant part of modern society; if you don't succumb to; or at least make noises in support of the latest groupthink; you're the spawn of the devil.
