I think Tony has a point on the other channel the comments are that elsan points are going, pump outs are the most unreliable thing ever [in my experience] so composting is a good idea and with luck CRT will put in composting bins. Just think CRT could go the composting way and dump the rest Crt are not looking at installing compost bins.

I have no confidence that C&RT will provide compost bins ... I have little confidence they will maintain existing elsans so, in my view, new investment is unlikely. But we shall see. Rog

They do a small model that will fit in my cratch. Dont you mean “They do a small model that my cratch will fit into? Oh sorry, misread cratch... I hope you can deliver that delightful pun in the style of Sid James I'm working on a script for 'Carry on up the Ashby', and I think you'd be a great help.

I'm amazed that you're having to make contingency plans for disposing of excess shit, . . I thought you got rid of it all on here ! And here is why nobody supports you.. . . . here is why the terminally stupid, like me and Mr Shit-for-Brains, don't support you. There you are, . . corrected that for you, . . reads much better now !

Not so much 'Oracle', . . more plain simple 'oik', . . nose wedged very firmly up C&RT's corporate backsides, . . contrary to the public image he tries so hard to cultivate !

I understand your thinking @tonyc and had no intention of making smart arse comments ... just curious. I was pondering a Simploo dry toilet last year, but (perhaps fortunately as it transpires) after a deal of research I went with a Thetford and two cassettes. This gives us upto eight days to locate an Elsan, but invariably we pass one every few days (whether marina or public). I was surprised that some folks, having spent money on dry loos, have now reverted back. Rog No worries Rog, I wasn't thinking of you. But you know what its like- there are a few people who turn into trolls as soon as the subject of separating toilets comes up. More so on CWDF than here, to be fair. If pumpouts never ever broke, I would like them better. They are a fantastic solution, right up until they become a nightmare. I've heard some horrible stories about people struggling to get a welder to fix a rotting metal pipe in an old pumpout, and unspeakable-smelling sewage swilling around the bilge if there is a leak, and people just having a lot of stress when they go wrong. If you have a strong stomach then fine- but if you're a bit squeamish, an old pumpout might not be a great idea. i dont know, maybe I've just heard too many of these awful stories. Cassettes are fine, and if there was an elsan every two miles I'd like them better too, but my nearest elsan now means going about 3 miles forward to a winding hole, then the same back, and then through three lift bridges in a busy spot- and the same to get back here. Its half a day of messing around just to empty the loo. It just seems a lot of hassle compared to the separating toilet, which only needs emptying every two weeks or so, and which can at a pinch be stored with trash in the cratch until you reach a CRT refuse point. There's no perfect solution, of course- each of us picks the solution that suits our own priorities, our needs, and our natures.

So speaks Is this some sort of hint or clue as to where you first hid all the ACC membership subscriptions dosh that you pocketed after the rest of the committee members all resigned because they'd had such a belly full of you ?

Not that I'm bragging but we have a pumpout AND cassette.... the cassette is only for number 1's (unless you get carried away an push too hard) and the pumpout is for hardcore!
The cassette in the crew cupboard is my contingency plan for WHEN the pumpout gets blocked - luckily, in the last 4 years, it's only happened once when a guest used wet wipes... and then denied it!
I do have a 2nd back up plan of a cheap and cheerful new one saved as a next day delivery item which I keep an eye on stock levels JUST in CASE!
