Which still isn't a bad price, you get to sit down in the warm with some music on for an hour for Β£3.70. but just think on it ....... 2 pints on Friday night 1 pint sunday lunchtime and a lunchtime pint middle of the week ....... not excessive consumption ?
but It's over 10% of the standard old age pension
I'm just thankful that my income is a little higher ......... (and for the same money I could have had about 15/16 cans of say .......... Speckled Hen)

That's even more people excluded then. Won't be long before pubs go the way international flights will go, only the rich will be able to afford them. Hardly, 10% on a pint is only 25p to 30p, less than two quid for a night out. if yu cant afford that increase, you really shouldn't be in the pub spending money to start with. I don't see people getting 10% pay increases. If everything went up 10%, millions would be on the breadline. Whether 10% is 2 pence or 2 pounds is irrelevant. As for folk that shouldn't be in the pub: yes, exactly. I think that once the initial excitement has died down landlords will find that even less people go in their pubs, leading to even more of them closing down.
