I made a chilli for dinner and intended to save some to test the theory that they're always better the next day ... but we've gone and eaten it all.
Maybe next time.
Perhaps we can chat on this thread ?

Terrific storm last night (in Staffordshire) - torrential rain and the sheet lightning lit up the sky. A lovely morning followed .......

Sorry - back to the opening post - I find any tomato, onion and herb/spice based sauce is often much tastier the next day after cooking, cooling and reheating. A bit like stew back in the old days when you just kept on adding something each day to keep it going .....

My mum always made casseroles the day before we ate them to let the flavours really 'come out'.Homemade soup is better after a day or two as well.

My Grandmother, who was born in the late 1800s used to make Christmas puddings in March, leave them under the bed and periodically stir the dust that settled on top into them.

A beef phal curry also deepens in flavour if left overnight and then reheated to eat the following day.
I think most stew/casserole type meals do the same

Little known fact -like St David I was born during a storm. I share a Taff Brethren name of Gareth.
Unlike St David Iβm not a Vegetarian Tee Totaler nor can I perform miracles - well, not without a decent lead time πππ

quite a good thunderstorm here last night looking at it on Blitzortung it was very localised
it seemed to track just up the valley (ha ha on land like a pancake) of the river Hull over Beverley and up to Driffield
then curving out to the coast Whitby area ..... hopefully most of the heavy rain will have dropped in the catchment area
(we can certainly do with some more water in the river, I think the water quality is getting a bit poor)
ps. and I'm fed up of sitting on the bottom at low tide !

It was pretty bad down here. Took me ages to get to work, every road was like a river.
But hey the grass loved it.
