£10k does seem good value for a steel boat made in 2002, 42ft long 13ft wide with a Gardner 6LW in it.
I guess its a kit boat and the welding may be rough.
It appears to have made it from great Yarmouth to Colchester so it must be a boat.
5ft deep seems surprising.

It does look interesting, and is a boat with a history, but the seller wants £ 12.000 for it, which is still quite a lot of money with all the work (and money) that will be needed to be done to make the boat usable- and looking good again. Still, for someone that has the money-, time- and energy to do that, it could be a good buy. Peter.

I agree it's too much money for a boat in this condition. But definately interesting.

He could very well change his mind about the money he's willing to let it go for, depending on how high the bidding will get. As he hasn't got the time to do more work himself, he may be better of to let the boat go for less, and not have a responsiblity for a floating object anymore. In the listing it says that you can get a grant to help you with the restauration, no idea how easy-or difficult that will be. Peter.

The grants are available to any historic boat, but they have limited funds and it's usually about £1000 I'm not sure how many they give out every year. So I think that's a bit of sales pitch in the advert really.

I don't know if the following boats are for sale, but it may be nice to see them anyway. They're moored only one lock away from the Thames in London. Peter.
