It does seem awfully expensive for what it is.

I've been wondering about a dinghy for the yot and an inflatable would be quite good but I hate the modern inflatables they are horrible. This one I do like Look at this on eBay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152997378434Tinker tramp. Anyone know if they are any good?

www.alanpease.co.uk/boats/gar.htmlI have been watching the work on this barge for the last few weeks. She originally had a lot of work done .... cabin top, portholes, spray foam throughout, floored, lined out, new steel bottom section of a wheelhouse plus lots of fitting out work done ........ It was the old story that we have heard so many times. A fortune spent fitting out and making her look posh, without spending a penny on what keeps the water out !!! Doesn't matter how much you tell them She sank at her mooring and was a total loss, completely ruining all the expensive fittings and fixtures. She was salvaged, refloated and towed to drydock where she has had a considerable amount of plating done, most of the bilges doubled and the forefoot. In fact everywhere they found her thin. She still needs a small amount of extra steel work, tidying up around the stern (well above the waterline) not a big job at all for the yard. but it looks messy at the moment. Not mentioned in the advert there is also the offer to have her shortened to whatever length you would like at reasonable cost, or for an engine to be added and fitted to make her a sailaway. (and yes you can see little bits of Sabina H in the advert pictures ...... it's tied up next to me)

Check for air leaks and state of the sail and rigging. www.tinkerowners.org.uk/index.html

A bit too wide but a lovely boat !

Alan's wife name is Lynn. Alan is certainly still well involved, I suppose he might be easing off a little bit , I wouldn't know. He certainly wasn't pushing up the daisies when I was chatting to him a couple of days ago

Beam, Keel & Air draft is too great to get it on our river, could have been tempted otherwise

I like slow boats but if I liked fast boats this would be the sort.
Doesn't mention what engines but they look like big turbo sixes so I guess the boat does move well. I would guess they are TAMD 70 280hp units.

Yes, I have to agree the lines are quite nice, and the price is rather low too, all very tempting. That's often the problem with hulls like that, they're often for sale 1 or 2 years after they've been bought by a dreamer, as an unfinished project. A hull like that requires loads and loads of money and time to make it into something usable, and that's when many of the buyer of the dreamer type realise that they've bitten off a piece too big to swollow, but then it's too late. But......for someone with the time and the cash, it could become a lovely boat, only once it's all done and you count up how much time and money the whole project was, you'll probably see that it could have been better to pay more to start with for a boat that was ready to be usable right from the start. Peter.
