There is some serious deck hardware up front specially the chain/hawse pipe and the heavy duty pulpit rails. I wondered if the flat bow might be something to do with crew transfer. If the rails in the middle were removable you could get off onto the mother ship that way.
Or maybe its just how the particular boat builder built boats. Looks a bit like a Thames tideway / London built boat.
For £1200 is it going to be broken or restored. I wouldn't have thought it was worth that for the hardware so maybe it will survive.
Crazy amount of work needed.

It has immense potential and would be a stunning boat finished...but thousands are needed.. Be good as a Community type project

Engine mounted throttles. Why would that be? ![](http://www.upl.co/uploads/Screenshot201904120938251555056128.png) Looks very similar to my Perkins P4 which is ex admiralty.

Yes I noticed that. Quite an interesting little boat I am a bit confused about where the outboard motor is.
If its hidden under the deck I think it will lead to some problems.
Would be a nice candidate for electric conversion. It reminds me a bit of the old CaraCruiser which despite its name was a boat and nothing to do with caravans.

My dawncraft had an inboard outboard, great, quiet, easy to work on in the rain. The advantage of that boat is the headroom, our 17.5ft trailboat had no standing room in the cabin, I made a pram hood with curtains around the cockpit.

Yes I suppose if its like the dawncraft it would be okay. Not looked at stern photos but for some reason it seems the OB may be completly hidden. It seems improbable anyone would design something like that so it probably is like the Dawncrafts. The headroom is an advantage if wanting to take other people on the boat. I actually find that when its just me the lack of headroom on my Colvic is actually an advantage as it allows more boating. The forward cabin is simply for sleeping and cooking. All other things happen outside. That way you get more hours of boating done due to the lack of internal space. I've always been known as an antisocial twat who likes to be alone near water preferably steering a boat.

Juno, our first cabin cruiser as I found her in Redditch, the day before 9/11. I do have one or two more pics on a hard drive somewhere of her done up and floating. One day...... ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190414/7e0ec03b8c05565754c702709d8c6dde.jpg)

I was moored near Reading by where the rowing lakes are now on 11 September 2001. Nobody ever used to moor there. Went past last week on the yot and the 3 mooring spots are taken now. The same was the case earlier in the year.
I was a trailblazer.

Jim you were quicker than I was, as I was going to say : "Have you forgotten the ever so popular Dawncrafts ?" There used to be an English guy on the Nivernais here in the late 70's early 80's that had a fairly big hire fleet with Dawncrafts, if I remember rightly he even bought their factory in the end. This guy has done well, as he's the biggest hotel-barge operator in France nowadays. Not far from where I am used to be a small factory named Espade, where they built GRP boats with hidden outboards called Miss 9m20, they sold their moulds to another French yard named Recla in the late 80's. It's a good and space saving idea, easy for maintenance etc. and if you want to make it a bit more economical (and complicated) there are LPG gas-conversions for outboards available. Peter.

Something like that fugly or not may become my future boat if there's one twice as wide, and twice as long, as that would do me. Peter.

I think there might be a design flaw. No expert and would never claim to know anything about boats. ![](https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/iqYAAOSwaVxcq2GY/s-l400.jpg)
