I do like that cruiser. The old Tyne Lifeboat had Detroit diesels, they made a great sound.

very interesting Kris ... but a very limited market ..... I hope it's a genuine enthusiast gets it and it doesn't fall into the hands of one of the swarm of dreamers that boats like that seem to attract

Nice. Interesting to see it has apparently got a COR-TEN steel hull. Weathering steel. Not sure of the benefits for boats but a few used it, then they painted it..
The main benefit seemed to be you could have thinner plating and therefore get a nicer shape.
Lovely boat. I hope the 8 ton iron keel is well fixed on!!

The wide bean which was submerged partly blocking the approach to Sunbury lock has been put on auction. It was recovered after a few weeks and is in a poor state internally with some additional external damage. Useable and floating and a very recent build. It is a toweringly, catastrophically UNinteresting boat but a little unusual as it is a very new decent sized wide bean by a known builder (18x3.5m so about 57x11'6 "Collingwood" generic widebean) which is probably going to be sold very cheaply. www.brightwellslive.com/lot/details/488679I wonder how much it will get. Quite intriguing.

You need that for your fleet. Is it electric propulsion?

I think so. It's unmanned. Just noticed another the same just ended for £1200.
Suspect rather heavy.
The seller looks like an interesting character.

The one in my link is asking £2500!! The other one, which was £1250 has repeatedly gone unsold. It would be quite an interesting thing to reverse engineer I agree. The motor units look rather like torpedoes. I wonder if JohnV ought to have them for Sabina for getting rid of obstructions on small waterways.
