A nice boaty boat. Gardner in there Seems to have laid decks on what I assume is a steel cabin. That could be hiding a multitude of sins if it has 3mm steel under it (which is possible). Probably a boat for someone with their eyes open and a bit of boat knowledge !

I do like it but would want to know more about what needs doing to make it ready for sea, that could be a multitude of things but I could be tempted......no no no yes yes yes.....maybe

They need it gone and are open to offers. So could be a good boat, but I agree it would need a good looking at.

I do like it but would want to know more about what needs doing to make it ready for sea, that could be a multitude of things but I could be tempted......no no no yes yes yes.....maybe For a 47-year-old ocean going vessel it shows a remarkable lack of rust, indicating it might possibly have been well cared for. Crab boats in particular can tend to get pretty ratty pretty quickly just because of the crab pots banging against the side and scraping across the decks. I wonder where they hauled their pots, and if the stb'd side is in as good condition as the port side. Most crabbers here mount a sacrificial stainless steel plate where they haul their gear to protect the boat's hull. I wonder too if they ran the engine regularly over the last eight years. That boat looks like it might be pretty seaworthy too. With the high bow and horseshoe stern, it should be able to take weather both fore and aft. It looks like if it did surf in heavy seas the bow would want to stay up because of the weight distribution. You could have a showpiece of a boat that would easily cross The Channel for under £50,000.

This sure looks like a real bargain, too bad about the engine, I would have prefered a "Gardner", but it may go possibly well enough with this "Gardiner" too.

for them wot doesn't know ...... a 6LX was fitted as a double decker bus engine I worked on them back in the day. My abiding memory is, come mot time, we had to heat up some silver paint and paint it on the joints to hide the oil leaks.

for them wot doesn't know ...... a 6LX was fitted as a double decker bus engine I remember the travelling fair having Gardner driven generators on their trucks when I was a lad. They now seem to use more up to date and rather less noisy (and less visible) enclosed gensets.

At least they are being honest about the condition.

I want one but don't have high pressure steam available. My Westinghouse train horn isn't too bad though..
