Although many of the guest visitors are bots anyway, it's only logical to assume that traffic on Thunderboat will be down now that many of the most prolific posters now post on theunstablebar instead of here.

The American in me (1/8 highborn southern states blood) keeps recalling this Is it junk or a cool tool? it's not something I would buy myself, but I was given one as a present 3 Christmas' ago. I put it in my toolbox, but realised that when I opened my 45 piece Hilka socket set I've had for over 40 years, to get the wrench out to fit it, I had the correct socket for the job anyway. The wide diameter of the unit makes it impractical in a lot of cases.

The American in me (1/8 highborn southern states blood) keeps recalling this Is it junk or a cool tool? Probably useful as an away-from-home emergency toolkit item but the chap in the vid highlights the limitations well enough.

The American in me (1/8 highborn southern states blood) keeps recalling this Is it junk or a cool tool? I was bought one as a birthday present, on the one or two occasions I tried it on rounded-off nuts it didn't grip. If I accidentally dropped it in the cut I wouldn't rush out to replace it, put it that way.

It's not surprising that they don't work with rounded heads.
I have found that, for dealing with metric nuts that have been damaged, a collection of old imperial sockets work well (and vice-versa) but you have to hammer the buggers on. Also Snap-On do a range of sockets designed for the purpose but like anything else they make the price is shocking.
Best not to buy cheap tools which ruin things to begin with. Also these days it's so easy to buy replacements for any damaged fasteners.

The wide diameter of the unit makes it impractical in a lot of cases. As I suspected, and as mentioned on the video, it wears away the corners of the bolts. As do air guns used by mechanics when you take your car in to their garages, when they remove your wheels and put them back on. Always better to do by hand.

Also Snap-On do a range of sockets designed for the purpose but like anything else they make the price is shocking. Many people buy cheap tools Made in China. The price for that is that eventually they take over your country - as seen in the UK, where they now drag people they don't like into their embassies' yards and beat them up, whilst the British (if that?!) copper just stands by and lets it happen.

Users Online in the Last 24 Hours - 980 Guests - down from 1500 (+) recently. A couple of days with Thunderboat left largely to the vacuous trio of Shit-for-Brains Coventon, Kris(Nadin), and Steve( jd)Jay - and the equally vacuous rancid old trouts - and the guest numbers in the ' Users Online in the Last 24 Hours' have now dropped to - 872 Guests - from the recent 1500 (+).
