It did but about a minute or so later things went a bit pete tong and the unscheduled disassembly scenario occurred. But everyone considers it to have been generally successful. Well you mean Elon says it was successful? I find it quite telling that Elon is not planing on going to mars himself. Aw don't be so mean. This 'hey let's make a frickin' big rocket' malarkey isn't easy. NASA has had more failures than successes; the Redstone project that preceded the Apollo programme often went boom in a big way. Also the russkies had a lot of failures before the famous Soyus missions. However being secretive and doing everything in Siberia meant that most of it could be hushed up. NASA (and now Elon) have to do things very much in public. Mike Oldfield once released a composition called 'Rockets Taking Off at NASA' which had a compilation of failed launches to accompany it but I can't find it.

Yes I suppose billionaires and there toys should be excused. He’s not got long to sort it out though, if nasa are going to use it to go to the moon again.

Apparently the next one is already assembled.

I always thought Need Another Seven Astronauts ACRONYM* was very funny after the challenger unscheduled disassembly all those yars ago.
Even funnier was when someone thought it was a good name for narrow boat timeshare. Perhaps that was doomed to failure.
*What does ACRONYM stand for?
A lifetime mission to find this out come rain or shine.

But it wasn't very funny actually Andrew Crosby. See me after class. Anyway there were plenty more where they came from.

Strange coincidence with the starbase thing. Turns out it is near Brownsville Tx which is a town founded many yars ago by one of my distant ancestors. My aunt did a family tree thing and discovered it. I sometimes feel guilty that such an illustrious family could eventually produce such a pointless layabout. I suppose nothing is perfect. Worse things happen at sea. You are the perfect layabout, don't be so hard on yourself.

I used to go around on a butchers bike yars ago with the sign between the frame bars "G SCATTERGOOD family butchers" on it. It was the original sign.
Only recently did I look up the actual meaning of Scattergood. It was quite revealing.
