It will be interesting to see how this develops. In a letter to Mr Ward, CRT say ""Sightings of your boat March Hare show that it is still on our waters. We therefore now require you to remove your boat from our waters no later than May 2, 2023, failing which we will remove it using our powers under Section 8 of the British Watewrways Act 1983 and/or Section 13 of the British Waterways Act 1971 without further notice to you and you willl be liable for the cost incurred. The removal will take place not less than seven days and not more than 27 days after the date of this letter." However there seems to me to be little point in simply repeating last week's scenario so presumably CRT are liaising with Wiltshire Police and they intend adopting a different approach.What exactly do you presume that C&RT Ltd are 'liasing' with Wiltshire Police about, . . eh, . . Shit-for-Brains ? Do you imagine that C&RT Ltd's Legal & Governance Services are trying to persuade the Police to join them in acting illegally and in contempt of Court in a second attempt at hi-jacking the powers reserved solely for the Court to impose sanctions on someone who has failed to comply with an Injunction Order ?

Mixed scrap I expect. Bit heavy to take it out and not a great deal of demand for them. I think it was an 8L3. Beautiful piece of well engineered light iron and copper alloy scrap. Someone will probably have had the removable copper alloys off it already to be fair.

The contractor does have a 5L3 advertised for £7k on their sales listings. 5L3 is a seriously nice piece of hardware. I think the SM might have had an eight in it though and probably completely flooded. kbmmarine.com/sale/Several interesting old lumps there bit big for canal boats.

Looks like the engine is missing a couple of the aluminium covers.
£7k seems rather optimistic presumably they have had it running or arrr hoping someone has these in a heritage boat and are desparate for parts.

I suppose the engine room might have been separate and not prone to flooding. I think that might be the one. If you look on the side of the engine there’s a scum line. So it probably was flooded, it would be easy enough to get it going again for how long or how reliably is another matter. But freeing it off and getting it turning over would be simple enough. I think they are optimistic with the price, but they are with their other engine prices. £2750 for a 4lw? Ugh I doubt it.
