Like I said to the doctor "Do you know what it is like having an autistic spectrum disorder with a lot of blood family members killing themselves when you have based your life around not working then you suddenly run out of money?" I said to mine "Doctor, I think I'm becoming obsessed with Tom Jones songs". He said "It's not unusual".

No thats fine its the mental elf which is fucked.
Humour is not my best side.
I'm a little concerned about the clinicalness of the depression.
Normal diversion tactics seen less efficacious.
Maybe the weather.

I intend to kris , but won't know until towards the end of this month. We usually contact them and offer our services from 1 October. Wait to see if we're required but hope so ... we do enjoy it (largely because it's only 12 weeks) and it pays for blacking, licence etc. so worthwhile. Rog

Rog Yes I don’t mind working in the winter, makes winter go quick. Unfortunately this year with being in the north, I’m going to have to find a new place to work. Which is a bit of a shock after returning to the same place for the last four years. Hence I’ve started looking at adverts. Apparently they’ve built a lot of warehouses on the old kellingley pit site. Which would be good I’d be able to moor up outside, always handy. Anyway another month- six weeks yet.

I mentioned Elvis in one of my consultations and the quack said I was 'nothing but a hound dog a crying all the time'.

I enjoy work and have also been at the same place for the last 3-4 years, They haven't come up with anything so far this year, but then it was the same last year, nothing for a couple of months and then a phone call early-ish one morning saying "Are you still after work? Can you start right now?". Expecting similar this year. If they don't come up with something then it will get to the point where I have to look elsewhere, but we're not there yet.

I think the other thing is, I'd prefer to stop winter work when I choose ... not when the company chooses.
It's always seemed that work's available if you want it and aren't picky what it is ... certainly the Christmas 'elf' type work we do.
When BHS went bust we both got jobs elsewhere without problems, and since BHS I've moved twice without issue.
If I'm not wanted where I've done the last four years, I'll just try elsewhere ... just less painful and easier to go back if we can.
