The Daily Fail is characteristically unrelenting in its latest chosen crusade. Helpfully, they have photoshopped a picture to help us identify the mutants. Check out this bad boy.
Truly the stuff of nightmares. Der Stürmer used similar tactics.

Any dog that calls itself an "XL Bully" is asking for trouble.

I went for a walk a week or so ago. One of these type of dogs was up ahead on a lead, the male who was carrying a paddleboard dissapeared under the canal bridge, the dog decided it was following, when the slightly built woman attached to the dog fell over trying to hold the dog back, the dog decided it would drag her along the towpath through the muddy puddle. I held back unsure if it was safe to continue.
Lots of effing and blinding by the couple about whose fault it all was, thankfully they dissapeared under the bridge and I could continue, although I did change my return route to avoid that area.
Anyone supporting ownership of these types of dog need their head examined.

The one in the news story looked like an actual Pit bull which is interesting.
Obviously even with banning these will still exist but one would have thought a dogs home would have a robust policy in place if one of these turns up whereby you kill it immediately.
How would it work legally if the dogs home rehomed it then it killed a kid or something? Dangerous dog bred to be violent. Kill it.

I'm beginning to lean towards the tentative opinion that you're not wholly in favour of this breed.

Dangerous dog bred to be violent. Kill it. That's the trouble. All dogs were bred to do a specific task. Jack Russells kill rats. Poodles swim into lakes and retrieve shot game birds. Bloodhounds follow scents. Sheepdogs herd sheep. These dogs were just bred for fighting and so naturally the most aggressive examples are selected for onward breeding. Couple this with the fact that the people inclined to own them are often violent themselves and buy them for protection against enemies and there's your perfect storm.

I'm beginning to lean towards the tentative opinion that you're not wholly in favour of this breed. How very astute. I'd happily shoot all of them with a .22. They need to be gone. Then burn them like they did with the foot and mouth cattle. Great big pyres. After this we do the same with the dogs.

Looks like you'll get your wish. Maybe not the pyres bit though.
I myself am not particularly keen on them.
I wonder if anybody will be forcibly required to give up a dog.

If they do ban them, what are the chances of the idiots breeding cats to be more like lions/tigers...

An emotional support mink might be interesting.

Apparently mink can kill cats (good), dogs (wow) and possibly even take out a horse !

There can be advantages to having a pet beaver on the boat although they can at times be quite hazardous.
