Not that it will make a lot of difference to Christmas goods delivery now, but with the Panama canal on reduced operation because of droughts, and now the Middle East dispute closing the Red Sea/Suez, will the Chinese economy fall into recession because of the lack of delivery of their exports. It's a long way round South Africa. The North East Passage ? Funny timing isn't it. I wonder if this Putin geyser knows his shit. Ice melting..

It's as cool to support Palestine now as it was Black Lives Matter, for a short period, a few years back.
The difference? Black Lives Matter was more about Marxism, the popular Palestinian cause being more about racism. Unbeknown to many followers, of course, to whom the overriding priority is to be cool.

A tad judgemental, I feel. That's the sort of comment that makes me think you're a jerk but hey-ho.

I guess what I'm suggesting is that many listen to the horror stories coming out of Gaza and the popular left wing commentary and form a judgment, without considering the bigger picture. In a similar way to those who flocked to support Black Lives Matter following George Floyd's murder didn't bother to find out about the organisation for which they plastered support on their social media pages. If they had taken the trouble, they would have realised they were voicing support for an organisation keen on tearing down the fabric of the society they hold dear. I doubt they would have supported that, really.

Speaking of left-wing politics, . . have you heard about the recent revival in NW Wales of the old Welsh Nationalists ideas round having a fun night out setting fire to and burning down English owned houses/properties while the owners are away, . . and the place stands empty. There's some fascinating and quite detailed stuff on the internet about it, . . you should look it up. In view of the obvious risks, perhaps you could persuade your dear old pal Vince Shit-for-Brains Coventon to go over to Barmouth and keep an eye on your place whilst you're away.

In view of the obvious risks, perhaps you could persuade your dear old pal Vince Shit-for-Brains Coventon to go over to Barmouth and keep an eye on your place whilst you're away. I haven't actually. Meibion Glyndwr tended to burn second homes in isolated areas rather than first homes in busy tourist towns. As for politics, theirs were of extreme nationalism. Given that nobody knows who the leaders of Meibion were or indeed, who the leaders of the current mob you claim to exist are, it's a bit difficult to call them in to discuss their politics. Beyond extreme nationalism, that is. While you might look at Plaid Cymru, a nationalist party (and left wing) or indeed the SNP, who are also left wing you could look at the Nazi party in Germany, extreme nationalists but considered by most authorities in politics to be right wing. Certainly, their widespread gassing of communists and left wing intellectuals would go some way towards supporting this theory. And then, during the Brexit campaign, those on the left tried all they could to villify those on the right, the latter having chosen nationalism as their path towards success. So, your assumed links between nationalism, left wing politics and violence are flawed. So, it would be fair to say, there is no secretive left wing organisation planning to torch people's primary homes in tourist towns in North Wales.
